Gotta say I am pleasantly SUPRISED How as time goes by , Oasis are starting to get some damn RESPECT ! SONGPOP features them now , there moving up iTunes in UK I see , I think over time when people who aren't zealouts like us and who bought into the bad press about being a ripoff of the past ( especially BEATLES )
Thst now that time has passed maybe there listening and finally appreciating them , I hope that's what it is as I don't repurchase LPS I already have , so I think this shows the critics were as usual WRONG ...there proving the test of time

Time Flies is a much better compilation than Stop The Clocks. It'll be a Xmas stocking filler for years to come.

If Oasis dont get respect I dont know who should..yes they were arrogant and annoying to some but thats what made them STAND OUT! its good to be different. Their b-sides alone > most bands a-sides.
Its good to see them back on the charts!

Its good to see them back on the charts! Time Flies spent 193 weeks on chart in 5 years. 53 weeks a year for 5 years are: 265 weeks. Half the time they were on chart!

I think this will keep popping up every now and again (especially around Christmas) as it is currently the best Oasis completion out there,
However I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if there was an alternative 'definitive' 2 disk best-of released within the next 10 years or so. Because obviously there's glaring omissions on both current options and neither are a true reflection on the bands best work. STC was too Noel biased and had some bizarre inclusions and omissions (obviously) and TF by definition had to leave the glorious b-sides and album tracks

Oh im sorry mate ,,by respect I meant in USA , with SONGPOP using the, and all. , I know it's hard for a lot of people in the UK to fathom but here they don't get respect ( certainly none in there prime ) there actually being played more now ! See here sadly VERY SADLY ......being different is not greeted with applause anymore , it's greeted with negativity , Oasis were labeled in press here as " lager louts " ridiculed as a cover band of BEATLES , and butt of many jokes , hardly played on rock stations in there prime ,... the UK certainly respects them ....why I wish I lived there , my style is much more british than american

Anyway though, seen as though albums aren't often bought these days, its nice to see people buying some classic Oasis material

Oasis are still the butt of jokes in the mainstream press, and even more so with the Pitchfork-type music press (who give Time Flies a 6/10 by the way!!) who dismiss them on the grounds that their music wasn't at all intellectual and borrowed from others and the Gallagher's being "arrogant" etc... Even over here, Oasis are still vastly underrated imo. You'd think, seeing the state the music scene is in, and the fact that no band since Oasis has gone off anywhere near as big as they did in the mid 90s, that they'd have got the respect they're due by now...sadly not

Some bands just get lumped in as warmed over retreads cause they looked or sounded like legends But actually like Oasis to me don't sound so beatlesque. Purple were no ZEP rip off ....... You tube space truckin or child in time ... Some great music

Oasis don't sound like the Beatles at all. I'm trying to think of a song that could sound like The Beatles (not solo work, not just Lennon, but really like The Beatles) and I can count them on less than one hand.
People who say otherwise clearly haven't listened to them.

so? how do ed sheeran's album sales affect oasis' album sales? He means that the album sales are massive at this time of year. Sheer and is way higher than the average #1. So the #91 album is also likely to be WAY higher than the average #91 in the UK. I would think 2-3K would be reasonable. This isn't an "average week" of UK sales.
