...and realized that it is probably my favourite of the live Oasis DVDs. I've always liked it of course, but this is a great performance, captured in a way that makes you feel you were really at this gig
Oasis were coming out with absolutely stunning songs, and only just after the first album. At the time of the gig, Some Might Say was about to come out and they played all 4 songs off what could be their best-ever EP. It definitely wasn't the more "greatest hits plus 5-6 new songs" setlist of the later years.
You've got:
Up in the Sky (Liam starts leaving out the high notes but still sings it really well)
Married with Children (completely different when done full band electric)
Some Might Say, Talk Tonight, Acquiesce, Headshrinker - all included
Noel messing up D'Yer Wanna be a Spaceman?
A beautiful rendition of Sad Song
An epic I Am the Walrus to close (though my favourite version is the Electric Proms with Helter Skelter)
And the ONLY performances of Columbia and Slide Away officially released (shocking!)
It's got a bit of slight banter but lots of attitude
What are everyone's thoughts on this gig and DVD?

Tough one....There And Then contains Oasis at their peak, in my opinion.

I tend to forget about this DVD, must have a look at it soon. That fact about Slide Away and Columbia is very shocking, would never of thought of that.

My favourite Oasis live DVD as well,
They have that naïve, rag-tag gang feel to them during this performance and then when my favourite era of Oasis was before it just got ridiculous. Set list is also awesome
I seem to remember a quote from Chris Martin which said he though Live By The Sea was the best live rock DVD ever or something.
I think it gets unfairly overlooked a lot because it's missing Wonderwall, DLBIA, CS etc

Yes, I think it does get overlooked for that reason. It is also strange for new fans to watch an Oasis gig without WW, DLBIA, or CS! This gig captures Oasis as the biggest band in Britain. There and Then captures Oasis as biggest band in the world.
