I Hope, I Think, I Know would have been a cool kick-ass single in 1995-1996. shame it was never played live. one of the most underrated song. For me IHITIK is their best pop radio-friendly song. Better than Roll With It and Some Might Say.

Better than Roll With It and Some Might Say. The chorus of ihitik lets it down Imo. Has a great verse and bridge, however the chorus seems to go nowhere and fall flat on its face at the end. I also think the same about the girl in the dirty shirt tbh

My Big Mouth could have been a decent single for the Summer of 1996 seeing as they played it at Knebworth. A July/August 96 release would have been awesome for the fans and would have kept the momentum going that bit more. The time between DLBIA in Feb 1996 and DYNWIM in July 1997 must have felt like a huge wait for new material at the time. Yes, it felt like a lifetime between WTS and BHN. During that time we had the glorious summer of Euro 96, and Oasis were hardly ever out of the papers. The momentum building towards BHN and the summer of 97 was HUGE. Happy Days...

Liam will be doing his own live reissue by the sounds if it.
I miss this thread. It was full of hope. Unlike what seems to have happened with other threads...so I thought I would come back to this one.

I also think the same about the girl in the dirty shirt tbh Agreed that the chorus of IHITIK is a little underwhelming, but it's not bad. Strongly disagree about The Girl in the Dirty Shirt though, if only because that repeated chorus and bluesy ending where Noel & Liam belt out the "now i see"s is the best part about it.

This thread was robbed of hitting 300 pages due to the ghost track splinter threads! Robbed I tell you!!

Maybe to help it reach 300 pages, we could do individual song discussions of each of the tracks on BHN? Like, for one or two days, do DYKWIM, then one or two days MBM, and so on and so forth...

I think it's a better album than Morning Glory. And I agree with the author that Noel's guitar work on Magic Pie is one of his finest.

I so desperately want to like this article, but Kasabian, the "most important modern guitar band"? What a joke.

You're In Love With A Pyscho is the modern day Lucy In The Sky. It's a game changer. Peter Blake cries himself to sleep at night wishing he had the talent to create album cover art so vibrant and thought provoking.

Yeah it was a long wait between DLBIA and DYNWIM but luckily, we had some other great bands in the meantime. It was really the second best era in the history of modern music. I used to spend hours in music store trying to discover new bands. Then, you got like 5 or 6 amazing records per year... and b-sides. Nowadays, we are lucky if we get two with barely 10 tracks. What was interesting also is that good music had the same media coverage as shit music. So more people could be "fed" good content. Nowadays, you have to look for it. It's really interesting how things change and how priorities change. Music was a priority back then, i'd say now it's just another facebook post, 5 secs and you're out. That time gap between mid 95 to mid 98 was a very positive time (although the news and stuff wasn't), and i'm glad to have grown up in it.

After spending 3 days reading each page and now making my first post. All I can say is. What a roller coaster of emotions that was! Absolutely!! It was exciting at times, demoralising in places. Focused and constructive through to complete chaos. Rumour, lies, scare mongering, optimism and disbelief. Noel vs Liam as always crept in. Outrage at Be Here Now (Mustique) to delight at 20 seconds of DYKWIM. Some satisfied others left wanting a 2016 retake of the whole thing. Useful information vs complete drivel with many post just to bump this overproduced and too brickwalled thread of an underproduced album THAT NEEDS MORE NOT LESS :-) Quite a thread! Never forget the day the f**ker landed

I did this last year after "NG's 2016 RETHINK" www.mixcloud.com/SimonLove/bhn-sls-2016-rethink/ D'Yer Know What I Mean? (incorporating the end of "Magic Pie" and the scream from "Fade In/Out") My Big Mouth The Girl In The Dirty Shirt Don't Go Away Stay Young Be Here Now It's Getting' Better (Man) All Around The World (incorporating "All Around The World (Reprise)" I cut a few songs out and chopped the time of the rest of them down drastically. No Noel sung songs on it either. Weirdly, I only heard the LP once at the time of it's release as I'd gone right off Oasis after "Morning Glory" due to being an indie snob.
