So I looked up the latest Uncut (didn't buy it though). The reviewer gave it 8/10. But the article didn't really reveal anything new (although calling Cloudburst and Strange Thing -by-numbers 80's British indie). What I'm more interested in, is the sound of the remastered version (including the bonus discs. I really hope that I willhear some differences.
Anyone got some reviews already from magazines (mojo, Q, etc.)?
cheers.

Regarding the remastering, if this is anything to go by then there'll be minimal to no noticable differences:

I don't think there will be any noticeable differences in the remastering, except the instruments will just sound clearer. It'll probably sound less compressed (although compression was a bigger issue on WTSMG).
And I could not give any less of a fuck what music review magazines and sites rate Oasis albums. Most of them are stuck so far up their own ass and COMPLETELY miss the point of what Oasis are about or why millions love them.

^what he said about the remastering..
If your hoping to hear something really different, you're in for a disappointment.
Btw..just read the pitchfork Q and A..what idiots lol..its people like them who annoy me. HC wasn't their best album for sure but it showed that even, possibly at their worst they could still write songs better than any other bands best material out there.

I think Oasis is underrated and I sill don't know why. This band is big as fuck, every album has brilliant singles, debut was incredibly good, Gallaghers don't give a fuck about anything (proper rock n roll)... anyone was better since 90's?

Yeah everything is much clearer and spaced out without drastically changing the feel of the song. What the remaster should do.
If you typically can't tell the difference with a remaster you're probably better off not buying it.

Owen Morris has a couple of white label test pressings for sale of the re-release. I'll ask him what he did different on the re-mastering we should look for. Anyone else think of anything else to ask?

Anyone else think of anything else to ask? Ask him if the inclusion of Slide Away without a few of Noel's backing vocals was intentional or a mistake.

Excuse my ignorance, but can we expect a change as drastic as say the original The Beatles master and the 2009 remaster?

Excuse my ignorance, but can we expect a change as drastic as say the original The Beatles master and the 2009 remaster? The songs imo on DM remastered sound almost exactly the same but then again im listening to them on a normal headset, ill try them out on the bose eventually but I still dont think it will be very noticeable

I wonder what Pitchfork will hand out. They constantly rip Oasis albums and always mention how great DM and MG were. Well now is the time to put it into print!

Well, Pitchfork neither put DM nor MG on their best albums of the 90's list.

Well, Pitchfork neither put DM nor MG on their best albums of the 90's list. That is true but they have had no problem destroying Oasis album since 1997 and always mention they will never live up to their prolific era of 1994-1996. I'd like for once to see some positive writing on that website for Oasis. I don't expect it to happen but it should based on their past writings. As a side note, Oasis was snubbed on those best albums lists but Noel Gallagher is the only artist listed twice in the Top 200 Songs of the 90s list they did several years back. Noel slipped in with "Live Forever" but also "Setting Sun". I'm almost 99% sure he is the only writer to make it twice.

Well, Pitchfork neither put DM nor MG on their best albums of the 90's list. Yes, but Live Forever is in their best tracks of the 90s list
