Been listening to this beauty a lot more recently and have to say its a cracking B-Side.
It seems strange to me that this song and Angel Child (Demo) don't sound anything like what Oasis were coming out with at the time (at the height of the Be Here Now era). Like many Oasis B-Sides I don't think it gets the credit it deserves, I don't hear many people talking about Flashbax nor has Noel played it once live, a shame really.

Absolutely correct sir. I think the All Around The World single is a joy to listen to, with The Fame, Flashbax and AATW flowing into each other flawlessly. So much energy, so much "We're the best band in the world and don't give a damn" attitude. I think it's a shame songs like these were never included in a compilation, more people need to hear them. That whistle solo, love it

Flashbax, along with Headshrinker, are the best B-sides Oasis ever did. And they did some pretty damn good B-sides.

Funny cause it came on yesterday while I had all Oasis on random and I sang it out loud (I was in my car). Awesome track. My Sister Lover came on after and it just reminded me how many great songs were wasted on b-sides during the Be Here Now period.

good tune.....hardly mentioned though....except my sister lover I really like the BHN (b-side) era. It seemed like a fun period too for the band

A Liam-sung version would be nice We can only dream.

Very strong b-side from the Be Here Now era. I always loved the "All Around The World" single. Two fun original songs and an ok Rolling Stones cover. Love the whistling on this tune!

I know Paul Weller supposedly really likes it. Here's hoping he can persuade Noel to finally do it!
(hey if we got Angel Child, Spaceman, and Idlers' Dream in the setlist, anything can happen)

Great song, and it sounds like it came from BHN era actually, cos feeling and sound are very BHN.

I actually hated this song until fairly recently, but listening to it again it's actually pretty decent for a Be Here Now B-side (although Going Nowhere is still my favourite by a long way).
I do think it goes on a bit too long though, which is true for just about every Be Here Now era song I guess.

The Fame gets way too much hate on here. Always loved it. Exemplifies BHN-era, right down to the lyrics. "Is my happening too deafening for you?" - That's BHN in a nutshell. And for that alone, it's incredible.
Flashbax is awesome, just which the solo was longer.
And how about I Got The Fever? Same exact same cocaine, guitar fueled self-indlugence, with perhaps THE BEST FEEL GOOD Oasis Solo. I love it.
Three fantastic, b-sides right there, all in similar top drug induced form.

I was listening to The Fame as I wrote that, and it hit me how brilliantly it coincided with the times, right down to the lyrics. It stunned even me to come to that realization.

I don't like The Fame, too similar to Step Out to begin with.

The Fame sounds ok-ish now as a lightweight pop tune but from the guy who gave us Live Forever, Slide Away and Champagne Supernova it was kind of a WTF moment at the time.

Fair point, what I should have said was "from the guy who gave us Half The World Away, Acquiesce, Talk Tonight, Rockin' Chair and The Masterplan"!
