After totally forgetting about it for a while (due to the fact I hadn't updated my iPod since the release) I've listened to the album again last week and now can't stop listening. There's something about it. I get a fix from it I don't get from other music out there. It's not only Liams voice, but also the mood I guess. It's reminiscent of Oasis, but it's not Oasis. I like it

What's the point in being like this? Let people express whatever the hell they want. If you don't have something constructive to say just skip the thread BE is a good album. Too bad about everything that happened around it and them not making a proper tour. By the way, welcome back songbirdsally. I haven't seen you around in a while

People like the one above make this place a bit annoying at times, but I havn't lost my love for Oasis/Beady Eye/HFB so I guess I'll keep on popping by every once and a while I just wished more people over here would share the love instead of being ever so negative about everything One of my favourites on the album, such a great mood:

I like it too. Listen to at least one song a day from it.
One thing I find curious about the album is their decision to lower the capo on most of the songs. It puts more stress on Liam's voice to try and hit higher notes. They did this a little with DGSS, but went all out on BE.

Me too. You see, every summer there's an album that connects with me on a deeper level to anything else around, it ends up being played repeatedly and becomes pretty much the soundtrack to that whole summer. Last year, curiously, it was NGHFB but this year it was BE. I just was ready for it, from the early articles about them recording it to the leak of Flick of the Finger right up to the full leak and then the release.
I don't care, quite frankly, about the stigma associated with liking BE on here, it's a fantastic album - really delivered.

Me too. Last year, curiously, it was NGHFB but this year it was BE. Considering you're a big enough fan to join this forum, somehow I find neither of those occurrences curious at all m8 Be is a definite improvement over DGSS, although that's not exactly a ringing endorsement by any means lol. It's unfortunate there won't be a 3rd album by BDI, we might have heard the last of Liam, how shocking is that?

Love the album, play it every second day at work, rarely skip any track and if I do so it' s face the crowd. But u' re right... there' s nothing out there that would sound similar with band with such a great attitude.

As much as it pains me to sort of agree with that (being a huge Beady Eye fan), I think that once Beady Eye wrap up this tour then it'll all go very quiet. Aside from the gossip articles springing up now and again, I think we'll here little, if anything, from them. Granted, there'll be the odd "Liam f****** hates insertnamehere" articles on NME, but music-wise we're gonna hear nothing from him until either Noel releases new material or Oasis returns. Sad really, I wouldn't have imagined it getting to this state before they released BE. I loved the hype surrounding the build up to that and the album itself, but it seems not everyone shares my appreciation for it. Oh well....

Would Liam himself even want to reform Oasis anymore? I believe what has happened in the past 6 months have soured him of the spotlight period, that includes Oasis too. He doesn't need the money (despite the costly divorce), I really think he has finally swallowed a hard dose of reality and let go of his shield of invulnerability. Why would he want to do this anymore? For what and for whom? He'll tour with the boys one last time because they did make that album and he doesn't want to let his boys down (especially Gem after his violent domestic bouts), but after that, all signs point to him walking off into the sunset and comfortably enjoying the rest of his life with his new found love. Listen, I speak not just for myself when I say that the forum doesn't need you throwing this domestic violence nonsense around. Your claims are unsubstantiated and entirely false, so just give it a rest. Anyway, right now it's not unlikely that Liam will pack it in altogether. But give it a couple of years, there's been rumours of 2014, 2015, 2016 since they separated and the internet as a whole holds the opinion that around this time, something will happen. Major music magazines have also acknowledged the rumours and offered their opinions on it happening, so it'd be a shame if it didn't come to fruition.

BE is much better than I expected. Different Gear, Still Speeding was a good album, but it was the maximum what they had at the moment. It was good and great to see the band tried something new with this album. Like eva said, it's too bad that, as a band and this album are over shadowed by Liam's drama and Gem's injury.
I hate when someone always look at a negative side of the life, things. Why can't you just enjoy the music and life? I love both Gallaghers, so I'm not taking the side cos I just can't.
and if you don't like this album and Beady Eye, you're free not to reply in this thread to wind up others.

I really liked Be as well-the full Japanese version- and it has additionally grown on me. We also have some great acoustic performances where Liam actually sings really well. My expectations have been exceeded!
They are a good band who will hopefully make more stuff. Liam needs a good break to sort his head out, I don't know the in's and out's but it certainly seems like he needs it.

The bonus tracks of "Back After The Break", "Off At The Next Exit", "Girls In Uniform" and "Evil Eye" still kick some major ass. So glad these tunes saw the light of day. Added so much more to this album cycle.

Seriously, look at like "well, we dont have Oasis anymore, but we have THREE albums in the time it wouldve taken Oasis to put out one." Add to that another two albums worth of b-sides and quality bonus tracks and its roughly FIVE albums we've had since the split. Seriously, Id take this over DOYS anyday. Five albums of Gallagher-related mostly-goodness is fucking great on all fronts. If you dont enjoy the music, thats a personal opinion, but IMO, its better now than its been for a while. Aside from Gem.... I get the qualms about DGSS but that aside, its still a reasonably enjoyable/good debut from a group coming off the back of FUCKING OASIS. HFB, while I think the album is a bit boring, definitely is Noel's best collection of songs in ages and HFBs were surprisingly great live BE is a grower for me. I think its great and totally embrace a band changing it up. Fine by me. But not just that, the songs are mostly really good. As far as im concerned, if something is better than DOYS, it can be considered a success on SOME kind of front. I dont hate DOYS, but we all know the issues with it and its a pretty goot litmus test, imo, for album quality comparison (which I dont normally like to do as they are all different) rant over

The reason why I love Oasis so much is that it doesn´t matters how you feel or what you feel, there is a song for exactly that feeling. And it´s the same with Beady Eye. Songs like Soul Love, Start Anew or Soon Come Tomorrow are really touching my heart...

I love the WTSMG-era guitar rifts of I'm Just Sayin. Sloppy Liam vocals on that one, but it's quintessential classic Oasis, something they haven't really come too close with since Noel shied away from that sound and solos in general post-BHN/SOTSOG.
Flick of the Finger is immense, I've always love Second Bite of the Apple, too.
Soul Love should have been better, but it's good.
Start Anew is overrated. So is Soon Come Tomorrow, the latter is decent but has a KFAD ring to it.
Iz Rite is a better version of PAITM, but the verses drag as much.
Ballroom is tiresome.
Shine A Light is equally as irritating as Wind Up Dream.
Don't Brother Me has hallmarks of Little James - decent melody, but lyrically embarrassing (and the outro of silence, why?!)
Best thing off of that collection is Off At The Next Exit - incredible.
