I remember when I first heard Stand By Me. That voice was like a sword through my soul or something (sorry, but english is not my first language)... The best rock voice ever. It made you wanna smile, cry and conquer at the same time.
When I listen to Liam's voice today it sounds like a drunk goat/cat. Like a nasal parody of some wannabe Lennon 15 year old... He needs to have a vocal chord surgery or something. It's like the chords are totally destroyed. It doesn't matter if he hits a note. The voice still sound awful and nothing like the LG I used to love. It's like some completely other person is singing with an awful voice.
I may be pathetic, but this really makes me kind if sad.

That post was like a sword through my soul. I can understand that, since you are a brainwashed member of the BDI sect. Noone outside this forum thinks Liam sounds good today.

Maybe it's time you stopped listening to Liam's/BE's albums and performances because they're obviously not to your taste instead of coming here and bitching about it.

Listen pal, there are dozens of threads you could post in to express your opinion about Liam's vocals, but you chose to draw unnecessary attention to yourself and create a thread. And then you present your opinion in a very crude, very unpleasant way. Don't act like you wanted to have a civilized discussion, because you clearly didn't. You wanted to provoke and you wanted attention. You got what you wanted. Go to sleep.

What's unpleasant about that? Well, I suppose the truth hurts. And since there's already a "Liam's vocals are great-thread", I thought it was time for a "Liam's vocals are awful-thread".

He's basically torn his vocal chords apart over the years, what do you expect him to sound like? He's been shouting in tune for years, it's gonna take it's toll. I really don't understand how people can complain about his voice at this stage in his career. It's been on a decline since 2002, you'd think people would accept the fact he doesn't have the same voice that he had in the 90's. Now you're just stating the obvious.

It's my honest opinion (and I'm still a huge fan and I've been to Oasis concerts in 3 different countries and even traveled to another country to see BDI etc.). And it's also the opinion of my friends, my parents and my brother (who is the biggest Oasis-fan in the world, he got their autographs, all the singles, has been to twenty concerts etc). If you don't like my opinion, that's fine. But it's my honest opinion. I don't like the opinion of the people writing that Liam "sounds fantastic". Also, it's apparent that Liam actually "responds" to criticism (he talks about being tired of people telling him he cannot sing), so we and everyone else should continue to criticize his crap vocals until he gets his vocal chords surgery and starts taking dinging lessons.

Yeah I miss that voice from MG and BHN It's still good now (somewhat iconic) but I miss the voice.

Liam vocals on BHN are arguably the greatest set of vocals rock vocals ever recorded, so comparing anything to them is ridiculous.
personally i think liam sounds good on BE, and has clearly stepped his game up from the last 2 oasis albums.

Go and listen to Stand By Me then, if Liam sounds shit now, that doesn't get rid of all of the times he's sounded great through the years, they're still there for you to listen to, Maine Road, Earls Court etc... So go and listen to them if you don't want to hear to a "drunk goat/cat", have a good cry and a smile to yourself and leave us all to listen to this particular drunk goat/cat without your constant negativity.

The title of your post is inaccurate.
A more fitting title would be "Liam's vocals are not the same as they were 16 years ago".
But then that would just be a stupid thing for somebody with ears to say, wouldn't it?

Just cos its different, doesn't make it bad. Just appreciate the fact that they managed to create and adapt 2 albums based on the way his voice has changed.
Still sounds legendary

His vocals are not as good as 16 years ago, but they are far better than back in 2007-2009 when it was the worse imo.
But if you look at the difference between 2007-2009 and now, and the improvement he made, its incredible really

Sorry, but how does he sound 'awful' on Ballroom Figured, or Back After the Break, or Start Anew? He sounds different (shock horror! 40 year old man doesn't sound the same as he did when he was 23!!!) but to say he sounds awful is a bit much. Even people who aren't fans of Beady Eye say that he sings well on these tracks and others. I agree he sounds a bit cringey on Second Bite of the Apple though

They are what they are, you don't like it then don't listen to it and defo don't come on here and start slating his voice, which has been on the way out for ages, if anything he's improved recently. But he is still Liam Gallagher and deserves respect just for that.

I didn't really like some of his vocals from Heathen Chemistry or Don't Believe The Truth, they are much better on BE. Some genuine high points in the bonus tracks and his vocal on I'm Just Saying sounds almost like some of the Be Here Now b-sides to me. Added to that, his vocals in the acoustic gigs have been really good. His problem is when he has to strain over loud guitars, it can sound pretty horrible but the last tour was better than the last couple of Oasis ones.

As I've already stated: This is the only fanbase aware of their singer's voice. That's for a reason...
Nobody outside the Oasis fanbase will be impressed by Liam's voice. I'd rather say, quite the opposite. Looks like some people need to prove they're not into a shite band, so they hallucinate a wonderful voice.
And yes, I really like Beady Eye, I respect the gallagher brothers, and Liam's fucked up voice won't stop me from listening to all that amazing music. He has attitude, tho. And he represents a lot to me. So no big deal. But his voice is indeed awful. And I accept it and i'm still mad fer it.

One more thing: In 7-10 years time, Liam will not be able to sing anymore. He will still be a legend to me.
