the last two i read: both were excellent. the beach boys book started off slow, the first few chapters are kind of blah. but a great read nonetheless.

^ about two thirds of the books that i am currently getting through are audiobooks. I am currently training for a marathon and am not a fast distance runner, so have plenty of time to listen whilst running. Nice, when is it on? I'll be doing the Dublin one in October, haven't up my mileage yet but will consider this when I do. Use to listen to podcasts while doing long cycles but think the audio book is the way to go

Currently reading City on Fire by Garth Risk Hallberg. It's very good so far.

A Dance With Dragons.
It's taken me 5 months to slog through the Game Of Thrones series. The most disappointing part was getting to the end and realising the TV show is *already* ahead of the books! Looking forward to reading some short books now :-)

Too Much Happiness by Alice Munro.
The writer is a Nobel prize winner and the book is a collection of short stories. Enjoyable and well written although I was expecting something more.

Looking forward to reading some short books now :-) How did you find the whole series? I thought they were the best books I've ever read, I wish I'd read them before I'd seen the TV show. A Feast For Crows is a definite low point and 'Dance' does take a while to get going but the whole story that he's telling is simply fantastic. Hopefully we'll get The Winds Of Winter at some point this year.

I just read "The thrill of it all" by Joseph O'Connor about a fictional 80ies band. I think I found that by browsing about Philip Chevron to whom it is dedicated. Nice book!

This is probably the wrong thread to ask, but has anyone read Watership Down? I want to read the book (cursed with only seeing the movie as a kid)
