via twitter @nataliesedwards (3am Deputy Editor at the Sunday Mirror) At the playback of Beady Eye's new album at Soho Hotel. It's no One Direction but is still pretty decent on the ears. LOL. We're in a dark screening room and Liam Gallagher is still wearing his Ray Ban shades. Rock n' roll. Liam Gallagher has now got out his seat and is dad dancing while playing air guitar. It's truly a sight to behold Liam Gallagher has just told me he covers himself in his own man juice to keep himself looking youthful. OH WOW. Liam Gallagher dragged me in to the hotel gym and demanded tequila shots. Then plonked himseld down and started doing weights. So surreal

"Liam Gallagher has just told me he covers himself in his own man juice to keep himself looking youthful."
Liam is king of self promotion, but does it not take away from the music?
Maybe thats the aim.

If this is true, it's definitely up there with the most absurd Liam stories I've ever heard (including riding the dog round the pub).

Only heard one negative review out of what, 7 so far? But nothing very stellar. Seems like most reviews have said it's a solid album.

What's happened to your hair Liam, looking quality a month back, now he's cut the fringe again... Still, could be worse...

Was never expecting anyone impartial to say it would be a classic. I think the fact people who aren't die-hard fans are calling it solid to good bodes well for us lot we're obviously gonna like it twice as much as them

Also, I haven't seen ONE review calling Second Bite of the Apple one of the better tracks. In fact, it's usually not even mentioned. Flick of the Finger is called a decent opener (and i think it's a cracker) and songs like Soul Love, I'm Just Saying etc are cited as the highlights. Looks the singles are nothing to go by for the quality of the album, and someone massively dropped the ball there

Anyone else think critics will be unwilling to back the album too much due to the relative lack of success that different gear achieved? Q described Different Gear as "the best album Liam has made since Morning Glory" and it turned out to be a commercial disappointment. This time expect the media to play it more cool and wait and see what the public make of it,

But I'd be far more interested if a non-fan thought it was a better than average album.

As well as others

Q described Different Gear as "the best album Liam has made since Morning Glory" and it turned out to be a commercial disappointment. This time expect the media to play it more cool and wait and see what the public make of it, True, this time around there's a benchmark - and given all the positive reviews Noel got then the press will hopefully use that as a benchmark. Surely if it was the same as Different Gear then people would just give it distinctly average reviews? Personally, I already think Flick of the Finger is the best thing they've done - if most tracks on that album are of that standard then I will be very happy with it. If they are more of the Second Bite standard then I think it will be very average. Fingers crossed though!
