Listening to some performances now and dear god it was terrible!
Not knocking Liam's vocals but the sound coming from the band. Compare it to when Gem and Andy joined up and it was played the way IT SHOULD BE!!!
Being It On Down is another that blows the 90's out of the water.

And the less said about Noel's dire performances of DLBIA the better!
Wonderwall was also played way too fast.

Gonna disagree with you... I mean, Andy and Gem are much better musicians, but still, I think this is great:
However I think Supersonic was always played way too fast, same with Cast No Shadow.

Agree slightly!
Morning Glory became more of an anthem as time went on, so became more refined. I always thought it was the song that resembled DM era Oasis, with the grungy guitars etc In the same vein as Fade Away or Columbia.
As for Cast No Shadow - I loved it every time it was played, especially when they played quicker at Maine Rd and so on. But nothing beats the feeling it gives off on the album version - definitely a special recording!

Agree! I think Oasis is better live in 09' than 99. Seriously, look at Slide Away, Morning Glory or Champagne Supernova.

Yeah (i like his voice in 08 btw), but i mean instrumental aspect - better solos and drums in 08'.
And for me Liams voice in 08' tour in Cigarettes and Alcohol is few times better than many years ago (95, 96).. more rockish! I love this live

Well, in gengeral, you can choose, either a not-so-good sound from the band on certain songs, but a brilliant performance by Liam(most of their 90's performances), or a good, thoughtfully crafted sound by the band, but dreadful singing by Liam(a lot of their post 2000 performances). IMO
After 2000, Liam would never nail Morning Glory the way he did in the 90's, but I think this performance is one of the best they ever did of this song.

On a day off so gave a another few listens to the few versions I have and it's turgid to my ears but not as bad as Noel's singing on DLBIA.

My favourite version of Morning Glory is from Cardiff 1996. Outstanding full band performance.
It does sound more neat and refined since A&G joined, though less noisy - which may or may not improve the song - than it was in the 90s.
MG was amazing in 2001, 2002-03, and still very good in 2008. But I think it was a little tired during the DBTT tour. Amazing live song but a break now and then is healthy, just like leaving out Live Forever in 2008.
