Hi. I just wanted to give you a little review of Noel's gig at the famous Holmenkollen (ski recreation area) in Oslo, Norway, yesterday on June the 29th. First of all, Holmenkollen is a perfect venue for an outdoor gig. This was the first time the festival was held and in addition to Noel - big names like Rihanna, Kiss, Billy Idol and more attended. But back to Noel. Even though the weather was terrible and fog was all around, NG played it all away. Noel sounded brilliant, and the crowd really enjoyed the gig. The good thing about the concert was that he changed the setlist and it was a bit longer than the ones recently held at Isle of Wight and South Side. Great to hear Let the Lord... played live. Noel had his banters with the crowd, like "To you on the back, I can gladly inform that Mr. Noel has just taken on stage". And "You have some pretty girls here, but be careful so the polar bears won't eat you..." Holmenkollen. Foto taken two days prior to the gig. I was there as well, and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Out of the nearly 30 times I've seen him, this was one of the least enjoyable. He just seemed a bit off in my opinion, and for a festival-setlist, this simply does not justify how great a songwriter he actually is.
I have a recording of the full show. I might upload a clip later.
