The Hindu Times? Really? I love the track, but it doesn't exactly ring Oasis to the world, does it? It is interesting that Oasis managed to get 2 tracks while most artist only had 1 a piece.
I trust nothing involving The Sun though.

As a Mike Oldfield fan I ask: Which one? I, II, III or 2003?

Pretty shit forum if you're only allowed to talk about Oasis. I find it refreshing when members like Aussie display a more eclectic music taste rather than crap like the recent loutish British pub bands - I myself have got into many bands from members who have discussed different genres. Good to see The Hindu Times in the playlist. Obviously only going to be a snippet (they'd be there for the whole two weeks if the playlist was in full!). Seems like a good rock anthem that would light up a stadium - the weirder choice is Wonderwall considering the event. Personally, I would of thought All Around The World would have been a great choice.

I suppose a tune with the lyrics "I get so high I just cant feel it" wouldn't sound out of place at the Olympics. Wish they hadn't gone wity Wonderwall though, surely Roll With It would've been a better choice

Tubular Bells II is by far my favourite Oldfield record, never really liked TB I, and III is dull trance. Funny / odd story, if you check Oldfield's wikipedia entry, a big part on his 'personal life' biography is devoted to Oldfield selling a house in Ibiza to Noelly G and Noel later suing him cause it was falling into the sea...

Yeah I think the Hindu times would be good if it was just an instrumental snippet, wonderwall could work as a big sing along but I think DLBIA would have been a better choice, great sing along and something about it feels very British.

Theme from Eastenders lol...
Glad to see Bowie's Heroes in there, its such an iconic tune. I know its not popular, but I love that Oasis did it. Even though it doesnt stray far from the original or other covers, its was a good song for them to do. I've always thought that it would have sounded terrific during the DOYS tour if Noel did it acoustically with Gem on harmonica - just as they did Whatever for a few gigs.

I call bullshit on this list. Michael Jackson is the first clue, he's from Indiana for chrissakes.
