So Neil Young's going on tour again (with Crazy Horse, so triple bonus good news), and as he's 66 (heck, all of the band are between 65-70 now) I may not get the chance to see him again. I've passed up opportunities in the past and this time I was determined to go see him.
Tickets went on sale today and I'm looking at what's available. "Holy fuck", I thought to myself. This sucks. The prices range from a $68 for wayyyyyyy back of the fuckin arena seats to $204 for a decent floor or balcony spot.
Now if I get two good tickets, that's fucking $408!!! Thats a lot of money, especially as I have to travel out to go to the gig.
This is the norm for tickets these days it seems...I think we've been spoiled by how low Oasis and HFB/BE ticket prices have been. When I saw Oasis on the DOYS tour, I got floor tickets for $50. HFB was $70 and BE was $40.

Depends who they are, and what venue, really... I got Kasabian at Brixton in 2010 for £27... Then I saw them at the O2 in December 2011, and it put me down by about £40... But then in Feb 2012, I saw Noel G there, cost me about £55 for seats... But now, I've forked out almost £70 for a standing ticket to see Muse at the O2 Arena!
Yet, I've only paid £15 for a ticket to Rizzle Kicks at Brixton...

So I went ahead and got my ticket - $122.
Ticket was $103, the rest was ticketbastard 'convenience' charges. They tried to get another $8 off me for ticket insurance, but I declined. If I need to get rid of the ticket, I'll take my chances with ebay.

I paid for Oasis gigs in 2005 & 2009 33, 50 Euro's. Beady Eye in Paradiso was about 25 Euro's and NGHFB in Melkweg was 27,50 Euro's. Normally for a gig in Paradiso/Melkweg/Tivoli costs between 12 - 25 Euro's. For a gig at a smaller venue like Bitterzoet/Sugar Factory is mostly 8 - 10 Euro's.
2 gigs I've just been to: For the Roses I paid 55 Euro's and for Weller 45 Euro's and that's pretty expensive for a gig in Holland. I think the most expensive gig I ever paid was about 65 Euro's or so for Weller at the North Sea Jazz Festival back in 2006, but of course it was not his solo gig, but a festival.

The gig I last paid for, Blind Guardian at the Factory (later The Metro) was $A63.50 plus 5.50 on post. The most was Dream Theater, who I'm thinking must have been joking. Maiden's was justified, their $A99 plus b/f was enough.
