This is a little rant about Some Might Say and how little it got played. Considering how it was their first ever number 1 it seemed to rarely ever be played. Now, correct me if am wrong, but: It was (obviously) played on the Morning Glory tour It wasn't played on the Be Here Now tour It wasn't played on the Standing tour It was played on the Heathen Chemistry tour Surprisingly, considering how it was their first number one, it wasn't played on the 10 Years Of Noise and Confusion tour In fact, it was never played again Now, can anyone give me a good enough reason (not the tired old Liam's voice was gone theory - it wasn't on the Don't Believe The Truth or Dig Out Your Soul tours) for why it was NEVER played often...it was treated like shit to say it was their first number 1. Other bands must play their first number 1's - so why didn't Oasis?

I remember Noel saying it was rehearsed during DOYS rehearsals but it didnt work..
Im not a musical person but did they change the key in 2002? Thought that made it suit Liams live voice more

It actually was played on the Be Here Now tour. Just not on the whole tour. It is on the bootlegs from GMEX and Den Bosch.

it was played on the BHN tour and was played a couple of time on the SOTSOG tour I think, it was definitely played on Jools Holland 2000

Ok, I didn't know it was played on the Be Here Now tour. I know it was played on Jools Holland but was it really on a bit of the tour too?

Probably one of the first songs they decided to drop because of Liam's voice. Tired excuse but it's true. In later performances you can hear that Liam's voice about to give out when he sings "standing at the station". Im not a musical person but did they change the key in 2002? Thought that made it suit Liams live voice more Yeah, sounds like they dropped it one semitone. Although the album version was recorded sharp/sped up, so more like two semitones.

Yes, it was played during BHN tour.
And during the SOTSOG tour, it was played on the Jools holland show (one of the best versions) and the first night at Yokohama Arena. It was replaced with Shakermaker, which was a welcome change IMO as Shakermaker hadnt been played live since 1996 and hasnt been played since the 2000 tour.
It was also played on the first gig of the 2001 Brotherly Love Tour, at the Joint, Las Vegas. But only on that first night and possible the second - no setlist or recording are published.
As people are saying here, they also soundchecked it for the DOYS tour but decided against it.

Noel also played on the '97 boot Noel Gets To The Point, and the ones mkoasis have mentioned, Noel has also played the Some Might Say riff at one or two gigs in the DBTT, think it was just the one, but I can't be sure.

It was played on every tour except for dbtt and doys. Although noel did tease the audience with the opening riff a bit on the dbtt tour.

Jools Holland was the last time it was performed well in my opinion. It dies, live, after that.
SMS is in my top 3 Oasis songs ever. Shame it didn't get more outings.

liam couldn't even sing this in 2002 without noels help, so it's unlikely that he could sung this in 05/09

Love the version from MTV Superdry in 2002 but yes, the only reason this wasn't played 04-09 was because Liam couldn't sing it. Simple.
