If Noel was playing it safe he would have released If I had a gun as the first single. I love Liam and like Beady eye but their album isn't exactly different to what they've done before. Yeah the death of me & you is just mind blowing isn't it haha

I think the point he's making is that TDOYAM is as least as safe as IIHAG.

Eh, it's a little different. If Noel didn't release TIOBI as a single, TDOYAM would probably be seen as more of a departure from the norm.
But it's not like Noel's solo album is anything but safe.

I hereby apologies for originally posting what Liam tweeted on this thread, it was a mistake and should have realised where it was going go. I hope you all accept my sincere and humble apology.
I can't speak for the other thread though.

Eh, it's a little different. What as in one's faintly country and one's faintly Wonderwall?

Eh, it's a little different. What as in one's faintly country and one's faintly Wonderwall? Country? Really? Well, for one, we haven't really heard a prominent brass section in any Oasis singles since All Around The World (I think?). IIHAG is Noel re-writing the same song over and over again while TDOYAM at least tries to be a little different. It's a minuscule difference, don't get me wrong, but I think TDOYAM is a nice little tune with a nice bounce to it whereas IIHAG is a big, fat yawn. For the record, I think High Flying Birds is about as safe as Noel could be.

What as in one's faintly country and one's faintly Wonderwall? Country? Really? Well, for one, we haven't really heard a prominent brass section in any Oasis singles since All Around The World (I think?). For the record, I think High Flying Birds is about as safe as Noel could be. lose AKA What a Life! and it literally is the safest it possibly could be, but even then he doesn't fully embrace the genre in my opinion. Then again, it does seem to be the most successful thing there, definitely scored some new fans, although it is my least favorite song on the album. Note for possible interest - The reverse is pretty much true for Bring the Light, its different, and I like it, although I don't hear most others singing praises for it, and it definitely didn't put Beady Eye out into the spotlight.

I still say he was on the sauce when he tweeted it. I'm with you. Probably been drunk to some extent since City won. It's not the worst thing he's ever said. I find the whole thing more and more tiresome. It's been years now. As far as safe goes. They both took a risk re-entering the musical ring. They are wealthy enough they don't strictly need it. Kudos to them both. They've both been "safe" in what they have released so far (with the exception of one Noel b-side). Neither album is a big departure. They're even in that respect. Noel is attempting something experimental musically (even though it may not work out I'll give him some credit for having attempted it). Hopefully we hear it. I'm not gonna complain if it doesn't come out because of quality control. I'd rather a good product than a quick product. BDI took the bigger live risk live by not playing Oasis tunes. Mitigated by that fact that it seems that resolution isn't going to have lasted until they release a second album. It only lasted for about 6 months.

That very little music these day's is original or even that 'different' to whats gone before. But you didn't write it and not only that but I don't think you have a band of the required quality or a voice unique enough to pull it off. It was different to anything Liam and co had written or worked on before and more than that for me, its really great. Although you don't need to see that to realise its a bit of a change, not a big one but a change all the same.

I agree with you on Noel up to a point, it may not work out but ffs he should give it a try at least he would have gone for it. I certainly wouldn't slate him for trying. haha don't think we'll ever agree on the BDI/Oasis song thing.

And what are Noel's song exactly? Last time I checked TDOYAM and SBAJF were poor Kinks. And the SBAJF chorus was a ripp off of the Beatles. An by the way most of Noel's song during his entire carreer have ripp off in it. You sounds like a moron of the 90's explaining he doesn't need to listen Oasis because he already knows the Beatles.

bring the light isn't different. it's just another step back in time. i could write that song too Everything released nowadays is 'just another step back in time' though, every type of music has been done before but to some artists it's original as it's the first time they have attempted it. Bring The Light for example is original and I'd put it under 'taking a risk' if you will as Liam has never released or attempted that sort of a song before, it doesn't matter if it was done in the 50's or not, it's new to Liam and us as Oasis/Beady Eye fans.
