They must read this forum... www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3945757/And-after-all-youre-my-Thunderball.htmlEX-Oasis star Noel Gallagher could get a licence to trill the theme song for the new James Bond movie Skyfall. The Wonderwall writer, 44, is to meet 007 bosses within the next few days to discuss writing the title track. A source told The Sun: "They're going to talk about potentially writing and performing the song for next year's new Bond film. "Nothing is signed or official, it's just being discussed at the moment." Noel — who is set to meet Bond producer Michael G. Wilson in LA — could use a song he has already written, called Freaky Teeth. The track has been played a few times at gigs but never released. But in 2008 Noel said of the tune: "I listened back to it thinking, 'That'd make a f****** great Bond theme'." He admitted the title was "not very Bond-esque". But he reckoned it was time a British act recorded a Bond theme song again. He said: "It's a bit of a p***-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans." US stars Jack White and Alicia Keys sang Another Way To Die for 2008's Quantum Of Solace. Noel would follow UK stars including Tom Jones, who sang the title song for 1965's Thunderball, and Duran Duran with 1985's A View To A Kill. The rocker is currently in the US with new band High Flying Birds. Earlier this month Bond producers denied they had lined up soul singer Adele for the job.

So Bono, The Edge and *gasp* Paul McCartney are American Noel? Or am I reading it wrong? Well the last 7 Bond theme songs were sung by Americans taking us all the way back to the late 80s. I believe that is what Noel is referencing.

So Bono, The Edge and *gasp* Paul McCartney are American Noel? Or am I reading it wrong? Firstly, your sig is far too big. Secondly, "But he reckoned it was time a British act recorded a Bond theme song again." So he didn't say ALL the themes were written by Americans Thirdly, Bono and The Edge are neither British nor American.

He might bot have been born here but he's basically Irish. It's not like he grew up with a British background. I mean, you can't say U2 is anything but an Irish band.

It's going to be really hard for Noel to beat out Adele for the Bond theme. She has the biggest selling album in the world over the last year and is insanely popular. The Bond producers will love that aspect of picking her song. These Bond themes are used as an extra marketing tool to promote the films. Unfortunately an Adele tune would get more exposure globally than a 44 year old Noel.
The other bad thing that could happen if they go with Freaky Teeth is a delay in the release of the AA album. You can kiss that summer release date goodbye. The Bond theme songs usually come out 4-6 weeks before Bond films come out at Thanksgiving (late November) so figure a late September, early October AA album.
We shall see what happens. Good luck Noel.

In which case, I would think the more compelling argument would be that Noel would have to pull it off his AA album. It's not happening anyways though. This story is fabricated out of nothing but the fact that Freaky Teeth sound James Bondy.

Freaky Teeth if used would be on the "Skyfall" soundtrack album only and a digital download release as well. I don't see it happening at all. I'd much prefer it just being on the AA album and we get 13 more Noel songs come summer.

Inspired choice, song, and arrangement. Flawless.

It would likely turn it into a strange caricature of Mad Men. If they just used Casino Royale as a jumping point rather than go in the strange direction that was Quantum Of Solace it would be great.

i know he disscused that he has written a song that sounds like a bond theme, I was saying that The Sun will be making up all the stuff about recent negotiation just to sell an old story.

The one good thing about the Sun spreading this around is that there's a good chance someone associated with the film will come out and lay the rumor to rest.

So what next, limp bizkit for bond theme ? it's probably the worst bond theme along with Madonna and let's face it, Jack White's. as for Noel, I can picture him doing the theme, but it wont be freak teeth. As much as i like the song, it's not strong enough to be a bond theme.

New TFTMON:
Now, I don't know whether you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by "007 bosses"!!!!! A meeting will be "taking place in the next few days"!!!! With some guy called "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!!! A "source" says, "nothing has been signed or made official"!!!! Of course it fuckin' hasn't!!!!!! Who IS this fuckin' "source"? Has he been on the "sauce"? Bizarre indeed.

Chris Cornells bond song was also on his album.
I hope it's true.
I hope he sings it; this would get him ALOT of publicity. No one in the UK or Europe had any idea who Chris Cornell was and yet the song charted well and was on the radio!!
I DON'T want Noel writing an Adele singing.
If Noel gets one shot to write a bond song then he better sing it.
Adeles song would be the same old plodding slit her wrists ballad crap that she fills both her albums with.
We need a great British tune again a la rock and roll like Paul mcCartneys!
