Sounds more like a 4-5/5 review... "The brilliant If I Had a Gun has a familiar anthemic, flag-waving quality that will appeal to Morning Glory-era Oasis fans, but it's on the woozy, carnivalesque The Death of You and Me and Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks that Gallagher truly shines." Way more positive about those songs than most other reviews.
"It's sad that one of our era's most colourful and downright entertaining groups have folded but the split has given Gallagher the freedom to pick up a new paint box and begin reinventing himself, much like his friend Paul Weller did so successfully when he too left behind an iconic British band in The Jam." Well put. Good review altogether, even if the rating should be better.

The newspaper editor would have prohibited that writer from making it any better than 3.5/5 I'm not kidding. You can see by the enthuiasm of the writer that he wished for it to be held in higher regard.
