Totally agree with your review. It DIDN'T stop me in my tracks on first listen but second third time it hit me. I also can not get the songs out of my head either.

Aside from the tedious Beady-bashing; "It's the longest song on the album, clocking in at just over 5 minutes (a pittance in Oasis terms), leaving time for one last, explosive burst of orchestral noise and an off-the-wall solo from cohort Paul "Strangeboy" Stacey. And a long, reverb laden fade to nothing."
That's incorrect, EOTR is longer.

Thank you to my fact checkers! I didn't really have the time I wanted to on this one. But I'm glad people like it -- excepting the tedious BDI bashing -- and I promise I will get some audio clips up next week. I emailed with Dave Sardy today as well, so I'll have that interview to report on too soon.

"We would have nailed that in a stadium, but Liam unfortunately was a lazy c*nt and wouldn't sing it." Yes. My favorite line of our chat. People can prattle on about how it's all an act and they'll patch it up and so forth, but when he lights into Liam it's real.

"We would have nailed that in a stadium, but Liam unfortunately was a lazy c*nt and wouldn't sing it." I personally liked the Moses comment myself.

Any mention of the song Freaky Teeth in your 45 minute convo Jeff? Thanks.

Fair play but no need to keep comparing him to Beady Eye but nice article none the less.
And for the record "The Morning Son" develops further as a song than "Broken Arrow" and they're two completely different kinds of songs.

Will your 45 minute interview be in a separate article, as I counted on one hand the number of quotes in there?

Will your 45 minute interview be in a separate article, as I counted on one hand the number of quotes in there? Yeah. There will be several future articles with interview material from my chats with Noel and my upcoming chat with Dave Sardy. As soon as I get a chance I will also post some audio clips.

Awesome review! I really agree with your review, but I think I like Ashes & Fire more than you do.

Awesome review! I really agree with your review, but I think I like Ashes & Fire more than you do. I liked it a lot, actually. But for hooky, memorable tunes Noel can't be beat here. A&F is one I think I'll be listening to bits & pieces of for a long time, though.

But Ashes & Fire is really great while you're listening to it. Nothing out of place on it and there's a really great ambiance to it.
