4. "Seconds" by U2: "One of a hundred underrated songs by the most underrated band in history."
That's a surprising statement from Noel, don't you think?

Finally Noel appreciates the brilliance that is Arcade Fire. Deep Blue is a great tune. Def has the Neil Young vibe.

Delighted to see he likes a bit of Arcade Fire there, and the U2 choice is exceptional. I think he means underrated in the sense that some ignorant folk just think they are all mainstream bores when that totally isn't the case. For a start, War (which features Seconds) is a masterpiece that is overshadowed by later masterpieces and the immense diversity in their sound makes Radiohead look unambitious. I still can't believe that Zooropa (another great album by them) is the same band that made The Joshua Tree.

Any chance we USA peeps can see what is on this playlist? I'm using my iPad and it won't allow me to click the link for the UK iTunes store.
Can one of you good people copy and paste a list of the tunes please?

1. "Moogie Wonderland" by Stereolab: "Profound lyrics and cosmic jukebox vibes = a psychedelic disco classic." 2. "E-Pro" by Beck: "Cowritten by the Beastie Boys? Massive guitar riff? What’s not to love?" 3. "Undercover (Of the Night) [Remastered 2009]" by The Rolling Stones: "A lost classic from 1983! Who’d’ve thought it? Me, actually." 4. "Seconds" by U2: "One of a hundred underrated songs by the most underrated band in history." 5. "Angie" by Bert Jansch: "The sound of me playing guitar in my dreams." 6. "Alright, Alright, Alright" by Mungo Jerry: "Utterly addictive. Good luck with trying to get it out of your little head." 7. "Alive & Amplified" by The Mooney Suzuki: "Play it f*ckin’ loud, and it WILL destroy buildings!" 8. "Juice (Know the Ledge)" by Eric B. & Rakim: "A bass line to die for. A Hacienda classic." 9. "The Real Life (Original Mix)" by Raven Maize: "Samples “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and it’s NOT sh*t!" 10. "Deep Blue" by Arcade Fire: "Have recently become a fan. Sounds like Neil Young." 11. "Grey Day" by Zoot Woman: "Who the f*ck are Zoot Woman? Who cares? Krautpop at its best." 12. "Palaces of Montezuma" by Grinderman: "Not a fan. I don’t even like Nick Cave. I love this, though." 13. "Mr Boyd" by Argosy: "Maybe one of the best songs never to be covered. Wish I’d written it. Classic." 14. "We Can Swing Together" by Alan Hull: "Ex-Lindisfarne geezer. Don’t let that put you off though. Mega!" 15. "House of the Rising Sun (Live)" by Nina Simone: "From ’73. Maybe the best version ever."
Found most of it on Spotify earlier today. Great stuff, very different to the tracks he chose in 2007.

Few of these tracks are on the Mojo CD he put out last month. I really like the Zoot Woman tune.

The Stones 1983 song and the U2 one are shit, they're bloated, excessive ego-trips. A bit like Oasis' third album.............

Nah, U2 are totally underrated. How many CDs/Singles do they have and yet we still have to listen to the same 5 commercially successful ones?

Nah, U2 are totally underrated. How many CDs/Singles do they have and yet we still have to listen to the same 5 commercially successful ones? Think u2 is one of the bands that are overrated and underrated at the same time. They have a lot of critical praise and are hugely successful but the people that dont listen too them only know the singles and dont give them the time of day because of Bono.
