I get arsed a lot about the status of our local radio stations and their lack of Oasis love, but I had the following e-mail exchange with Kade at 102.1 The Edge tonight . . . Sure dude. That song is sooo sick. Thanks for the awesome compliment, sir!

I really appreciate your musical views and style a lot. Is there any way to get 'If I Had A Gun' by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds played on this station?
Cheers!
Kit Jenson In South Dallas Now, we'll see if it happens. Fingers crossed! Cheers!

Even if it doesn't get played. Great job and effort. K+ More of us need to do this. Just like we did with TSOTL.

Thanks for the karma.
You're right, more people should simply ask directly.

Thanks for the karma. You're right, more people should simply ask directly. That's how things got played in the oldin' days. It can be done. Someone should start a thread to get people to sign up to do it.

Very nice. I was looking for away to request on there earlier this morning, but quit because i'm lazy. But nice work! If all goes well, maybe it'll help to get Noel's ass here in Dallas.
Did they specify a time?!

i've tried that.... it "sort of" worked with Oasis, i emailed every single DJ @ that station. Eventually TSOTL did get to the top of the playlist but now they never play it anymore. When they play Oasis it's either Wonderwall or CS.
Beady Eye did get some airplay but it was all thanks to Josh(since he's a fan of Oasis). he played even played the disaster that is Bring The Light on the weekends during the Adventure Club.
anyhow, it doesn't hurt to ask but unless they receive literally THOUSANDS of emails requesting them to play Noel's song, they wont play something that's not on their playlist. It's just the way it is.

DC 101 in Washington DC just played it. Very cool. I hope they keep it up and other stations follow suit.

Josh will probably play it on the Adventure Club. Hello to all the other people in and around Dallas.

Are people using the word 'sick' in the sense that something is good in America now?

Yes. Been going on for some time now. I'm guilty of using it.

Have to admit this thread inspired me to do the same here in Seattle, so I emailed the program manager of a popular station here (Click 98.9) and got this response...
"Thanks for the note and for listening. We’re glad you found us. Yes, I’m aware of that track and agree that it could fit. Definitely considering it for airplay. Hope you have a great evening."
Hope to hear it soon!

not trying to be an asshole or anything but some of you are so naive.... i don't blame you, i used to do the exact same thing(like i mentioned in prior posts). Unfortunately the fact of the matter is that they will not play it-no matter how many times you ask them and even if it fits or makes total sense for that radio station to playlist it-- unless the label does its job. It's sad but that's how things work in this country.

Keep up the great work!" Him: "was thinking that same thing today when I heard myself! Not sure yet." Sounds like they won't be leading the way, unfortunately.

I was just checking the Adventure Club page and saw that he played TDOYAM on 8/14 and 8/7. Wow. At least it's something. I am actually shocked by this, because they never play this kind of stuff.
You are all probably right, he'll play IIHAG for sure!

I must be getting old. Keep cringing the more and more times i hear someone go on about something being 'sick'. Sure our parents thought the same when we started saying 'wicked' and their parents the same when 'cool' was used in the 70's ! Hate getting old

I've never used "sick" that way and never will. It's fucking retarded. It was just starting to catch on when I was in high school and I hated it then. It's got nothing to do with getting old. It's just stupid. Never been able to wrap my head around that one.
