1. Wonderwall - 995,000 (soooooo close to the million) It's bound to go over a million in the next few years. That is if they're still counting.

If the internet was back then what it is now, Wonderwall would be in the 4 to 5 million range easily. DLBIA above a million, and a couple of others up there too. It's just the nature of the music industry today is all.
It is also interesting to me the disparity between total sales and actual chart success. For example, WW has nearly a million sales but never hit number 1. Incredible really.

To this day I'm still upset that Roll With It is ranked as high and sold as much as it did...Oasis' had an unbelievable opportunity and unprecedented popularity in '95 at the time that single was released. They could have released ANY SONG from their catalog up to that point, and it would have sold just as much if not more than Roll With It did. But they kind of wasted it on that song, and that's why even when you check iTunes downloads and Last.fm scrobbles, the casual public is more familiar with Roll With It than some of Oasis's other (and better) songs.

What's wrong with Roll With It? It's not their best song, or even the best on Morning Glory, but I fucking dig it! It's catchy, melodic, and fun; not every song needs to be a Live Forever. I doubt if they released Acquiesce or whatever as a single back then that they'd be any more popular.

They wouldn't be more popular overall...but I guarantee you if they released Acquiesce or something as a single at the time, it would be one of the top 10 best selling Oasis singles, which means more radio play, which means that song gets more exposure to the general public, which only means good things for the band.
Instead they chose Roll With It.

I love Roll With It. Sounded fucking great in the background of the FA Cup celebration.

What's wrong with RWI? is because it lost to Country House or something? Great tune, it's fucking huge live.

Off of MG, RWI is an obvious single. CAtchy, summer rock song. Other tunes are not single-ish. CNS, Hello, HN, MG, and SE all fall short of single type tunes. Great songs, but not single-ish. They didn't release CS at that time because it doesn't make a good second single to the album. It was all a matter of flow.
I have no problem with the release of RWI at that time. But to your point, pretty much any song would have had great success at that time, so why not RWI?

^^Morning Glory does NOT fall short of a single type tune. It's insanely catchy and the refrain refers directly to the album's title - a big plus for promotion for the album. I thought it was a single anyway?
She's Electric could have been a decent single as well, the only recent it wasn't is because it had too many superior songs to contend with. It's better than most if not all 2000s singles.
Although I can't listen through the whole of Roll With It, I agree that it did make good sense to be released as a single at that time.

Morning Glory was a single in some places, not in the UK though and I don't think in America either
The reason blur won was more to do with them doing a CD1/CD2 (one of which was a pretty cool live disc) so the blur fans bought both. I bet more people bought Roll With It.
