obama has fucked up on many issues, however this is damn near irrelevant in the economic climate the president was going to loose the mid terms and there was very little he could have done about it. still he has two years to convince those that voted for him last time to vote for him again. you're right, but can you imagine what this economy would be like if mccain and palin were president and vice president right now? let the haters hate on obama, but jesus, the other guys would have been disastrous. either way, this was going to happen. democrats would compromise and compromise to the republicans. then after all that compromising done to various bills, the republicans would still turn it down! this might end up sparking a fire under obama's ass, though. he may now realize that many of these republicans are unwilling to compromise to the other side of the aisle, so it might be better to try and actually do things his way. (hey, it worked for bush so well.) meanwhile, obama's job approval percentage is in similar numbers to reagan and clinton after two years in office. also, historically, the last three recent presidents to have lost the house and/or senate during midterms, clinton, truman and eisenhower, all got reelected. just food for thought. by the way, l4e, did you vote?

dude are you kidding me? You didn't even vote? I went through all the trouble (and believe me, it was trouble) to vote in both the primaries and the regular elections back home while I was living in London and you couldn't even get off your lazy ass and trot down to the poll? I think that's called "Political Commentator Fail"

is palin gonna run for president? I'd be surprised it she didn't run, but I doubt she'll even win the Republican nomination since so many repubs have an unfavorable opinion of her.

Good luck to him. i just hope this election is the kick he needs and he can stop pandering to those who will never agree with anything he does, he should focus on the reasons people did vote for him, if he wants to win the next election. jobs will be the big issue at the next election if it is moving in the right direction he has a chance if not then almost any chance is lost.

Well spoken. I do not have a hatred for Obama...I just do not agree with some of his policies..Granted evryone has the right to agree or disagree. As a small business owner I do not agree with him He has f'd up our tax system. I will give him...on the other hand..A chance to right this. Not to be arrogant, but the USA runs the world economy. We need an outsiderr to step out and get shit taken care of. I am not a polotition, and not wish to be. Just my 2 cents

Romney will be an awesome president.
I saw a figure that unemployment will be at 9% still in 2012. That's not good. I'm not supporting that as I'm looking for a job and the job searching process sucks. But in poli sci classes we learnt that presidential campaigns dont matter (there's caveats to that and it's a bit more complicated) but for the most part presidential elections are judged on the incumbents popularity and the economy.,
Obama in the mids 40s - i would bet he will touch the upper 30s at least - and unemployment at 9% in 2012 means even Palin (shudder) would beat him.
He has 2 years to turn it around. If unemployment doesnt drop below ~7.5%, we'll have a republican president in 2012, and most likely Romney as I think he'll win the nomination.
Seriously, Obama is such a weak president. What does the man even stand for? Exactly, I don't know either.

Exactly, I don't know either. no one could have turned it around in 2 years. and what does he stand for, he's been in power for two years you simply need to look at his actions.

yeah NL4E! can you even legally vote in the u.s.a? you bad-teethed, britonian!! it's not an matter of citizenship. he talks politics all the time and complains constantly about the state of this country on this forum, yet he doesn't vote? fuck that. i'm calling him out on it. it's like that person everybody knows that complains about food at a restaurant, yet still eats there all the time. (and, if i remember correctly, he didn't vote in the presidential election in '08, either.)
