I'm pretty sure the live version of Supersonic is from Gleneagles but I don't know about this one. Which gig is it from?

Sounds to be like the BBC Radio 5 session on 15th September 1993.

Do you know what else was played at the session Mr Monobrow, and is this when I Will Believe (Live) was played too?

There's performances of Digsy's Dinner and Rock and Roll Star out there as well, never firmly ID'd and some bootlegs say they're demos, but I think they all sound like the same performance.
I'm pretty sure BIOD is from there (makes sense of Liam's "Good Evening Great Britain, Hello!" at the start - this being their national radio debut). There's also talk of Cigarettes and Alcohol being played, although there doesn't seem to be any recording of this.
Noel said in an interview in March 1995 that this session is where I Will Believe is from.
I'd love to see some official documentation as what was played that night.

Which performances of Digsy’s Dinner and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star do you mean Mr Monobrow? There’s that little collection ‘Live In The Studio’ which features the relevant songs but not the right performances - did you mean that?:
Bring It On Down (from Live Demonstration) I Will Believe (Live – at the Marquee, 1994?) Digsy’s Diner (Live at Glastonbury 1994) Cigarettes & Alcohol (Demo) Rock 'n' Roll Star (from Live Demonstration)

I have uploaded the two tracks in question here - I have not included the two b-sides due to the recent TOS notifications. www.multiupload.com/N8C0VST54PYou know, the officially released C&A demo sounds like it could be from the same session as well, but that bears the question to why it was referred to as a demo on the release. Plus there's some extra percussion on that track.

Thanks for posting those tracks Mr Monobrow. I definitely agree that they sound like they're from the same session as I Will Believe and Bring It On Down. Seems like they came from a good source too as there's full intro and outros as opposed to being cut off as you would expect to hear if they'd been recorded off the radio.
As you mention the 'demo' of C&A sounds very similar too. I seem to recall Noel saying somewhere that he had no recollection of recording that demo - if it was from this session as well that would explain that. Perhaps the bongos percussion part was something they added either during the session for a laugh or to try it out?

Most of the pre-1994 stuff is unclear to their actual sources. We all know about the Live Demonstration tracks, but there's pretty smooth studio sessions for the 1991 tracks and for stuff like Whatever, Digsy's Dinner and Up In The Sky. Who knows where they were recorded. And how many of you were aware that the version of Shakermaker which appears on Definitely Maybe was recorded in February 1993, a year before most of the rest of the album.

Mono, you definitely need a write a book. Not like a biography, but a proper fans guide to Oasis minutia. I'd buy it, and I'm sure many others would. Webby will sell it for you lol.
Thanks for sharing your rare recordings and wisdom, always appreciated.

Thanks for the nice words. It's never going to happen, though. I fear we won't see anything like it for many years.

Credited to an "in-studio" recording on this date on "Bite of the Apple".
Liam opens "Bring it on Down" with "Good Evening Great Britain, Hello..."
Until recently the (credited) date of this session was thought to be August 11th (11/8) but having finally gotten hold of a copy of Bite of the Apple (produced by KTS in 1998) the date is now confirmed as November 8th (8/11). Must have been an American/British date mixup somewhere along the way.
"I Will Believe" was issued as a b-side to Supersonic and "Bring it on Down" is later issued as "Bring it On Down (live) as a b-side to the Shakermaker cd single.

The BBC are in the process of putting their entire broadcast history online (not necessarily content, but basic programme details), so maybe this will be cleared up one day.
