OK i'll try & explain the best i can,on youtube when you watch a fan made video of oasis where you see different clips of vids as you hear the song in the background.
how do you save a part of an oasis video & keep it to use in a video? not necessarilly oasis but i hope you know what i mean.
i'd just like to capture different clips, save them & sue them for a video.
i guess i need certain software etc ... any help would really be appreciated.

Never done it myself, but sure you do need a certain software. All the youtube clips are flv. file, so first you do need to convert them to avi, mpeg or xvid, then one of those (free) softwares might do the job. www.xilisoft.com/dvd-creator.htmlavs4you.com/edit-mpeg-video Good luck.

go to www.mediaconverter.orgpaste the yt link and go to next step. select the output type, for example .avi, and check the box "I want to set advanced options" there, you can put a value in "offset", which is the starting point, and "duration", as well as the video resolution among other things. click ok and wait a while and you'll have a download link for just the portion of the video you indicated
