Hey guys,
So fellow Live4ever board user Hinsey21 and I are getting married in September this year, and we are FINALLY taking a trip to the UK for our honeymoon! ;D
Obviously we want to do touristy stuff in London like the Tower of London, but we want to then travel to Whitechapel to do a Jack the Ripper tour, and to Liverpool to see Crackerbox Palace (ha!), and to Manchester.
To those of you who have travelled to Manchester - I've heard rumours of local tours (put on by Clint Boon I believe) that take you to the places important to the history of Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, etc. Any specific recommendations on thing we need to do or see? We want to see as much Oasis-related stuff as possible.
Any suggestions appreciated!
Cheers, Lisa

Congratulations Lisa and be happy with your husband.
If you're in London, don't go to the tourist places like Tower cos they're too expensive. Instead of that, you can better visit places like Covent Garden, Camden and Nottinghill Gate. Don't forget to check Proud Camden too.

When in London don't forget to check out Carnaby Street, Berwick street (to create your own Whats the story morning glory cover) and Camden town.

Awesome - thanks so much for the well wishes and the suggestions! Any Liverpool reccos other than the obvious? Looking at that Beatles themed hotel.... The Beatles hotel looks really cool, but I thought it was a bit pricey to be honest. Are you going to visit Lennon and McCartney's old houses? If so make sure you get on the tour that lets you inside them, it's the one that's run by English National Trust www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-the_beatles.htmYou're not allowed to take pictures inside (they take your cameras off you when you go in) although you can take some sneaky ones when the guy lets you have a wander around if you just tell him you don't have one with you Strawberry Fields is just up the road from Mendips, not much to see as it's just an overgrown field, but it's good to get your photae taken at the gates!

I can understand why you would want to visit Manchester but honestly it is a Shithole in my opinion! I would'nt recommend any of my friends to go there for their Honeymoon! It is ok for a day or 2 or for a Gig overnight stay but that's it! I would be interested in your review as I was really disapointed, nigh on scared in some bits the 1st time I went. Lets just sum up by saying it's not very romantic!! You could try & get tickets for a Man City game, because The Eastlands however is fantastic! Liverpool isnt much better tbh but for the Beatles tours & museums it is pretty good & the city centre is ace for a night out. Congrats x

Thanks guys - honestly for us it's one of those things where seeing the places that mattered to all our favourite musicians will be super fun to us, even if it is not the nicest city. We'll be spending the majority of our trip in London and just going North to check out the historical stuff musically. Besides, my future husband's not the tropical vacation type, which pretty much leaves Europe, and we've both always wanted to go to England!
Great advice here - thanks a ton!

Paul - of course! :-) Next time we are in NYC we are taking you out for a pint.
Thanks so much Sword, we will get in touch if we will be travelling by train. Yep, starting in London, and actually we're hoping to maybe fly up to Ireland for a couple days, then fly back into Liverpool, and leave from Manchester's airport.

I live just 25 miles north of Manchester. I can easily pop into Manchester by train and meet up with you. I don't mind showing you around the city and taking you a tour of the sights. There may even by a football match on, with either City or United. Keep in touch.
