Most reviews of Whats The Story were poor at the time.
I remember Q or NME or someone slating it!
Its only in hindsight that its been regarded as a classic by the press.

Yeah, Morning Glory was universally slated, Be Here Now was universally praised and everyone changed their mind on both albums...

Ohh right, considering how I was late to the game where Oasis were concerned...does anybody have any scans or links to other articles that slate Morning Glory? I only ask because NME and Q both re reviewed them and gave the album good reviews

This is almost funny to read. "Don't Look Back In Anger disappoints, too."

From these mediocre reviews to later be the zeitgeist of their time just prove how WTSMG? is such a great album, it got over every criticism at the time.
It just prove how music critics are a bunch of jokes, at the end of the day it's just a opinion of one single person against millions of people.

Haha, I think everybody was just pissed off at the time that it sounded so different from Definitely Maybe. Nowadays it's considered the pinnacle of Oasis, and for good reason. Silly critics.

It shows how fickle the press is and how, ultimately, worthless and irrelevant they are to the masses.
