You know who I'm talking about, the guy with reddish curly hair and spectacles who played the keyboards for Oasis before Jay Darlington? I'm thinking this is who Noel talks about on that talkSport interview saying he's his best friend.
Nobody ever talks about him, but I prefer him to Darlington. His jazzy keyboard playing on MTV Unplugged for Some Might Say is awesome.

yeah, i remember him. pretty sure he's not the 'strangeboy' noel referred to in the talksport thing tho fella. back in 1997 they had two keyboard players on the be here now tour and noel (at least once) introduced them as 'mysterious mike rowe and strangeboy stacey'

The person who Noel is talking about in the interview is Paul 'strangeboy' Stacey who did play keyboards and also accompanied Noel on guitar at a acoustic gig at The Forum in London But is obviously a different person to Mike Rowe

He produced STOTSG, best produced Oasis album in my opinion, if he's Noels friend why didn't he produce anymore albums? Maybe he'll do Noels solo record, but this time just a little less keyboard choirs

which interview are you talking about? It's in the news section on stopcryingyourheartout.com But yeah, my main point is that I prefer Rowe to Darlington. Had no idea who Stacey was though.

Check out any of the Don't Go Away performances that Oasis did on Letterman, Leno or Kennan Ivory Wayans. You'll see Mike Rowe and Paul "Strangeboy" Stacey right next to each other in the background. (Rowe has the specs and curly hair. The other one is Noel's best mate.)

he was the guy on keyboards? Be Here Now Tour? Looked like Austin Powers. I remember him. His keyboards were behind a bar on stage.

Can anyone tell me if i could get a keyboard stand of that style anywhere? Not seen one online thus far, but you could convert a relatively cheap old upright like so:- And if you or someone you know has art skills or is good with fabric coverings, etc. do it that way?

Mark Feltham is often overlooked as a key part of the Oasis sound too.
I'm going to learn those harmonica parts one day e.g the fantastic musicianship on Round Are Way.
Spectacular.

Yeah it wouldn't be hard to make one but I just think it'd be great to have a professional looking stand like that! Thanks for the info

Best guess after doing a bit of research is it's a custom job, so the only other option would be to approach one of the stand manufacturers for a quote, but I would assume you would be looking at a good size outlay for a professional custom built model- good luck

He played with Noel in the Albert Hall gig this year. Thought it was a regular thing to be honest Nah, this was prior to High Flying Birds. His last appearance for Oasis was the 10 Years of Noise & Confusion tour in 2002 I think. Disappeared for 9 years before Noel brought him back into the fold for HFB.
