I've always wondered what the black tape on the back of Noel's guitar was. While i was watching back the tct gigs today, i noticed that he had a double cable running to his guitar. One into the endplug, and one to the back. Does he have another mic taped to the back of the guitar? The tape; Here you can clearly see the double cable;

By the looks of it he has 2 outputs yes, probably the built in pick up and the white one in the soundhole. It looks like they made a hole in the back of the guitar for the soundhole pickup....weird!

The SJ200 doesnt have a built in pickup, my guess is that the wiring from the soundhole pickup is running to the endplug jacket.

It was the same with his Takamine during MTV Unplugged & BHN Tour: & He was using the Takamine Original sound captor + a Fishman captor in the soundhole (I find it in a french Guitar Mag's article concerning Noel's gear)

I can answer the most of your cuestions about Noel's gear, I spended many years studing his soound and equipment. About your answer Noel use a Gibson J200, this guitar comes with its own LR Baggs mic inside the saddle of the guitar. Noel use only this system a lot but from 2005 or 2006 he uses TWO system at the same time, the first the one I mentioned (the only output jack of the J200) and the second its the LR Baggs cream pickup (the one you see near to the adidas sticker) and the output jack of this pickup croos the guitar and reach until the back of the guitar and its taped to the guitar with some rubber protection to not damage the finish of the guitar, and to this jack is conected a regular guitar cable and another to the output jack of the J200, that's the reason you see two guitar cables coming out the guitar. If you want to kno muche more or anycuestion you can write me anytime. Live forever!!!

It's a tone issue mostly. The two different pickups produce unique sounds which once played over each other gives you the sound Noel was ultimately looking for. Additionally, it allows you to mix the two sounds separately, which can be greatly beneficial when trying to keep a balanced guitar sound. Often, as many of you now, the guitar tends to sound whiny and you lose the low end, so he can eliminate that by mixing one pickup to a lower tone.
It just goes to show how anal Noel is about having his sound just as he wants it. Perfectionist truly!

If you watch the Maine Rd footage he had a soundhole pickup in his Epi ej200 and had the output jack kind of taped to the back of the guitar.
