How do I do this? I keep getting the message when I'm clicking record "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input settings and the project sample rate" I've gone into Control panel.....Manage Audio Devices and all I can see are these in the list: I've look here but haven't any of the devices on their list and tried what it says there to no avail: wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_Vista_OS#Mixer_Toolbar_has_no_recording_sources

in Audacity, go to Edit/Preferences... in the I/O Audio tab check if the recording device is the stereo mix instead of the mic and if you have it set to 2 stereo channels

Cheers eva, i've gone into the preferences but when I check the recording section it's just blank like this : Any ideas? I've tried updating the realtek audio driver but it says it's up to date.
