Cause people still listen to the guy. I think Glasvegas are overrated though.

He's just a bit of a plonker.
And if he thinks Cameron "looks like a leader" he must be back on the drugs, lol.

Alan McGee is a Bon Jovi fan. Nuff said.
The fact that this idiot was partially responsible for Kevin Shields leaving music for 15 years still pisses me off.

oasis was his lucky break that's really it.
he kept talking about glasvegas in his myspace blog, so I listened. they are TERRIBLY overrated, and his opinion is to be taken as a grain of salt.

agree, Alan Mcgee should be given full praise for giving Oasis a chance
but thats what he was giving them, Oasis was his gamble that paid off, it wasnt some kind of "holy shit I've just discovered the best band in the world"
he and Creation were taking chances on bands, which is basically how they operated

I didn't read the entire thing. I stopped caring about this man's opinion when he said people should quit music at age 40. What an ignorant point of view. Terribly misguided.

Everytime I've seen him he comes across as a pompous, boring wanker. If he thinks musicians should retire at 40, shouldn't he do the decent thing and fuck off then? I don't think anybody really gives a fuck about his opinions to be honest.

i think it's only fair to point out that Alan McGee also signed
My Bloody Valentine Primal Scream Teenage Fanclub House Of Love Ride Super Furry Animals Boo Radleys
All the above had huge success in the UK. (which is more than most UK record labels) Primal Scream's - Screamadelica is still today one of the best UK albums of the last 30 years.
If McGee is what some of you say he is. Then God only knows what you would make of the late Tony Wilson. Wilson's success with bands (exception of New Order/Happy Mondays) compared to McGee's was very weak.

McGee is a legend, completely bonkers, a true British eccentric.
Makes me laugh when nobodies like the people on this thread slag somebody like him off, calling him a retard etc. Hillarious.
