Did anybody here watch The Who perform at the Superbowl ... amazing gig!
Oasis should seriously do the same when they reunite in 20 years.

Tell me why Oasis cannot do this too? "Oasis didn't break American..."

They can't fill mid sized venues in most of America, why would they be asked to play the superbowl?

Oasis have played sold-old gigs at the Madison Square Garden twice. Not many bands that "haven't broken America" can do that. Oasis are a massive band internationally. They have sold over 75 million records worldwide for Christ's sake!

And after they play Wonderwall and CS what else will they play that the crowd will know?

No they shouldn't, and Noel would reject it even if he was asked. Oasis have a philosophy of doing things they agree with - hence they rejected to play at Live8, too.
Noel would never accept playing at an overly commercialized American event which is blown way out of proportion. It would never happen, and thank God for that.

Hang on, this is a British band who have never really cared about America, who are massive football fans but have no interest in American football, and Americans have little interest in the band. Why would they give a fuck about Superbowl?
Aside from the fact they've been split for 6 months and you're already thinking of reunion gigs.

Because Liam and/or Noel could easily drop an F-bomb is reason enough for the NFL never wanting them for the Super Bowl, even if the band was still together and big in the US.
The league wants old, safe acts. I think Tony Orlando might be available for the right price. Charo as well. What a show that would be.

You are really, really, really out of touch. amen. they may have filled msg in '08, but when i saw them just a week before that gig, in colorado, the place was over half-empty. imagine the floor seats being filled and everything else empty (that's because everybody just went down to the empty floor seats)

oasis wouldn't get views for the superbowl. i can imagine most of america tuning out of the half time show unless oasis plays wonderwall 4 times. oasis has slipped into irrelevance in america, for better or worse. give me one good reason why oasis should play the halftime show besides "THEY PLAYED BIG GIGS IN AMERICA BEFORE. MSG IS AN EXAMPLE".
to NL4E; noel didn't play live 8 probably because he didn't get asked, or they had the manchester gig previously booked. as much as noel says it was out of principle I hardly believe that. and his "hilarious" quote, or whatever regarding "they think these politicians are going to see kylie minogue and think... 'maybe theyve got a point'", was possibly his most bitter and out of touch. The point of live 8 was to get people together in one place at a rock concert (something people will flock to in the millions if it's free) and while they're all there get this message out. Maybe it won't change the world, but it got people thinking and it's worth trying.

Don't Look Back In Anger and Live Forever Would never happen anyway, even if they were huge in America Noel wouldn't play at an "american" football event i guess
