Which famous people (living or dead) would you invite over for a dinner party. Let's try and exclude the Gallaghers out of this because they're obvious choices for everyone here, so choose your 5 other than the Gallaghers.
Mine would be:
Lee Evans - need some humour around the table, who better than the best comedian in the world?
John Lennon - Only Beatle who wasn't around when I was alive, holds the most iconic status out of them all perhaps.
Michael Schumacher - Look at my avatar, pretty obvious he's gonna be there. Sub-human to me.
Arsene Wenger - proof that pretty football and limited cash can reap rewards. Revolutionised the Premier League - a genius.
Abraham Lincoln - I would need a famous politician there (I study politics myself) and it was either between Churchill or Lincoln. Chose him over the Churchill because we know so little about him in comparison.

Arsene Wenger - proof that pretty football and limited cash can reap rewards. Not quite. The Arsene Wenger that actually won trophies also knew a thing or two about defending. And to suggest that he revolutionized the Premier League: he revolutionized Arsenal, and Arsenal alone. For fuck's sake, I respect the man for what he's achieved, but the way you Gooners talk, you'd think he invented attacking football.

The argument is that by revolutionizing Arsenal, he revolutionized the entire league. He ended the drinking culture at Arsenal, which spread to other teams, for example. Eating habits was another one. Wenger's philosophy, especially with training and players staying fit, caught on with the rest of the league.

Granted, but Fergie was doing that at Manchester United in the mid to late 80s, in addition to revamping our youth academy and reintroducing the brand of attacking football that had first been pioneered at the club in the 1950s. Arsene's great and all, but he was hardly the first manager to equate fitness with success, and to win trophies in the manner that he has at Arsenal... well, apart from the year they went unbeaten. Fergie hasn't done that.

george carlin - one of my heroes and someone who has given me many of my personal and political views.
mike richter - my childhood sports hero. always an absolute gentleman whenever i ran into him, and always wanted to know more about the man. why not hear it from the source, right?
stevie wonder - not only do i consider him the greatest songwriter of the mid-to-late 20th century, i think of him as the buddha of our time. he has such joy that whenever you see him on television or in person, he spreads it. it's just infectious.
george harrison - my favorite beatle, and someone i truly admire. (plus, imagine the conversation about religion between him, stevie and george carlin)
osama bin laden - so somebody knows where he is (and for a sting operation so we finally get him. no food for him.)
...and as soon as osama is taken away by the special ops forces, i'd bring in one hot actress or model. no explanation needed.

John Lennon - Does it need to be explained?
John Simm - Because we could have a good chat about all things theatre, television and movies.
Matt Greoning - So that he could teach me how to draw
Emma Watson - She seems nice and you have to have a beautiful girl there haven't you?
Carmen Electra - Really need to be said?

Noel Gallagher - my all time favorite idol Roger Federer - the living legend of tennis George Harrison - my favorite beatle Ronaldo - the brazillian, not the portuguese gay model self-called footballer Amanda Peet - my favorite actress

Fucking hell, I'm didn't exactly state he invented attacking football... jeez. I agree with NL4E. What I mean by revolutianizing the league is that he had a great influence on it. He was the first foreign manager in the league and began the influx of quality foreign players to the league (lack of English players says more about English football than it does for Wenger's policy, besides Arsenal have the best young English talent in the league at the moment anyway) for example. Now please, I'm not up for arguing for God's sake. We can talk about this on the Arsenal thread if you want.

Well...besides Noel and Liam: Sir Paul McCartney who seems like a very nice lad to me, Peter Doherty- preferably in a non-chemical state (although I do know that isn't very likely to happen these days) Bonehead- I bet he has some nice ones to tell Russell Brand- cause that would be a good laugh and last but not least Alex Turner, so we could discuss our 2 second romance the other night ;D
