I know most people on here think that these 3 along with the rest of the new band will fail, despite people like me trying to convince you.
But live I think most people will like the gigs, probably gonna be in arenas like Wembley, M.E.N etc so a really good loud atmosphere.
And they will play songs Songbird, MOS, A Bell Will Ring, Turn Up The Sun etc that have been done by Oasis and sound great live so you think they will do well live even if not with an album and what songs are you looking forward to seeing?
I think the ones I have already mentioned will sound great, Turn Up The Sun to open, MOS the first one after the encore and I'd like to see them close with The Nature Of Reality before the encore, think that would sound great with a big solo at the end as Liam walks off. Also hope they play Eyeball Tickler too.

Boy With The Blues, Pass Me Down The Wine and Soldier On (with some guitar on it, of course), would be cool. I'm not sure Liam can sing Soldier On live, though. But that's the songs that I wanna hear live, most because that we have not heard them live before.
I agree with Eyeball Tickler, btw! Really wanna hear that live.

They'll probably play the majority if not all of the album plus b-sides than shite like Nature of Reality.
It'll be mainly new material, some LAG-written Oasis and the odd Noel-written Oasis imo

Yeah we know that tune is shite but at least put a decent comment! If you dont think they will be any good, tell me why and then I'll start to take you seriously! You gotta give em a chance! Like Liam said could go tits up or it could work really well............only one way to find out! But live they can be a hit because they are all great players who have wrote some good songs and you can get away with shit songs live by making them sound better

But you gotta think about Liam's voice. He got a break a couple of times throughout a gig when Noel was with them, but now it's gonna be all Liam. Unless Gem or Andy step in and sing, which I highly doubt they will.

I honestly dont know but at the moment everyone seems focused and up for it so I'd like to think Liam will plan the gigs for the amount of rest he will need, rest his voice, warm up and go to soundchecks and turn up his mic so he doesnt need to scream.
But we will have to find out, I just think Live they will have more doubter on their side than they will with their new album.

hmmm, i don't know about wembley and such... i would think they will play smaller venues and maybe even a few clubs which i think would be really cool...
the one thing that they have going for them as a live act is that liam seems to have really gotten his hunger back for playing live... you could tell during the d.o.y.s. tour, even when him and noel were at each other's throats... for the most part he seemed like he was having a great time on stage...
i agree though about his voice (but let's not turn this into another 'liam voice' thread)... but as the o.p. said let's give them a chance to show what they can do... but with that said... they will need the tunes... there's just not that much of a decent non-noel written back catalouge to fall back on... and i.m.o. liam can't have it both ways... you can't say 'this will not be oasis, it will be all new' then go out there and fill more than half the set with album tracks and b-sides from h.c. , d.b.t.t. and d.o.y.s. ... people (like myself) will want new tunes...
however i would like to hear t.y.f.t.g.t. and k.t.d.a. , however the latter i just don't think liam could handle live... but perhaps if andy and/or gem helped him with some backing vox?

A few LAG Oasis tunes as surprises in the setlist woudl be great. But I'd expect to hear mostly new material.
That said, I'd be exstatic if they played KTDA, Soldier On, TNOR, or any LAG OAsis song thats never been played live before. Just thinking about high quality audience recordings of those to add to my bootleg collection...drool! lol.

You know what. I can tell you that it's going to be good stuff, but other than that I will disagree with your post. Firstly, they are NOT going to be relying on their old chunes. Secondly, they will not be playing stadium tours.

Firstly, they are NOT going to be relying on their old chunes. I think your wrong this statement. I think a lot of people who'll wanna see them are going to their gigs and are expecting songs like Songbird, I'm Outta Time (Which are considered to be pretty huge hits), To Be Where There's Life and Turn Up The Sun. I'd be very disapointed if I didn't get to hear them to be honest! It'll be the same with Noel, even more so. People are going to wanna hear Don't Look Back In Anger, Live Forever and Wonderwall. Hell, when I think of it, Liam, Andy and Gem are in a way better position than Noel regarding playing old material on their concerts, because Noels got such an enourmous back cataloug full of mega hits. And how awesome would it be if they (LAG) opened with these songs: Turn Up The Sun Eyeball Tickler The Meaning Of Soul Hung In A Bad Place (Definitely a new song in between these four, just as full of energy as the songs on this list are!)

The Meaning of Soul should be nixed from any LAG/Oasis set-list for eternity...personally it is my least favorite Oasis song, and it sounds so normal live...To Be Where There's Life just took a life of it's own on the tour, it sounded great every gig!

Liam never said they won't perform Live Forever and stuff like that anymore -.- He said, and this is a lose quote "You won't be hearing Don't look back in anger anymore"... And that's because (duh) Noel sings it.
Liam always wanted to make a setlist of "greatest hits", as I recall him saying that in the "10 minutes..." video from the "10 years..." tour. It doesn't matter if these songs are written by Noel, Liam'll probably do it to piss Noel off (as far as I'm aware you can't sue someone for singing your song live).
I believe we will here the best of Oasis, as well as the best from the new album.

Part of me wants to see just new material & the classic LAG stuff like TBWTL & TUTS etc but then again the other part of me thinks that there is certain things from the Oasis era that i couldnt bare not to hear live again.
Of course the classics like Live Forever & Champagne Supernova, and also from the last tour like My Big Mouth & TSOTL because they sounded epic!
Dunno which I want more.

if they want ppl taking them seriously, it has to be new!!

All of Liams songs are half-finished ideas thrown onto a CD. Why on earth would anyone want to listen to that and that alone.

I think people will be in for a shock if they're expecting a best-of LAG-penned Oasis setlist. It just isn't going to happen.
1. The vast majority of Oasis fans haven't even heard of Eyeball Tickler. This forum is not a true representation of Oasis fans, it is the true hardcore. The vast majority of fans don't download bootlegs, don't buy singles or download b-sides. The hardcore who know every song are in the small minority, that goes for every band and every gig.
2. Keep The Dream Alive has never been played live, wasn't a single and it isn't a particularly memorable song (good song, but that isn't the same thing). She's Electric was never played live but was a memorable song, the crowd went wild for it when it was eventually played. Could you really imagine people cheering at the opening notes if it was to be played? Because I think bemused looks and "what the fuck is this?" is more likely.
3. I love Turn up the Sun and thought it was a great opener, but the fact it wasn't a single and wasn't retained in the setlist means the moment has probably passed on it.
I would say Songbird - which was a single, is well known and popular and has been played live for the past 7 years - is a cert. TBWTL and I'm Outta Time are probables, although both received lukewarm receptions on the DOYS tour and IOT didn't sell well or receive much airplay.
It'll be a much shorter setlist anyway as Liam won't be taking any breaks during the gig. I would imagine it'll be 9 new songs, Songbird, TBWTL, IOT, Meaning of Soul, Champagne Supernova, Rock 'n' Roll Star, Cigarettes and Alcohol and Live Forever.

Turn Up The Sun, as you say, is a fantastic opener, and basically every concerts I've listened to from the Don't Believe The Truth era, this really got a great reaction from the audience every time. This whole LAG - live buisiness is one of the most interesting aspects of Liams new band. I can't wait to see what they're gonna play on the concerts. The possibilities are countless! I for one hope for a few Be Here Now songs as Liam loves that album. I know the chances are slim, but one can hope!

TBWTL sounded good live but didn't really go down well in person, I saw them in Liverpool and Sunderland and both times it was the "go to the toilet/bar" song.

^^ Good point. I mean, I don't think they will...but I've always thought that Cartoon Moon, Deja Voodoo, and Step into My World would sound immense as Oasis songs.

I agree entirely; they gotta grab the bull by the horns without looking back. If that means taking a little longer to craft songs, then so be it. I really think to prove their mettle and cred, they should move away from Oasis tracks and into 'new' territory; play small venues, keep under the radar, if indeed the tracks are half decent, let the word spread. When I say 'new' music, we all know what kinda territory they'll be exploring... But imagine if they opened with an Oasis track. Personally, my heart would sink. The fact that Noel is taking time out is a good idea. Although we are all pleased and excited that Liam's throwing himself back into proceedings, quality control is vital. I hope he proves a point and that he can indeed cut it. The few Andy, Gem and Liam Oasis songs being mentioned as possible additions are hardly classics or live staples punters (other than the odd diehard) are desperate to hear. With the exception of Songbird, the others are just songs Oasis pulled out to promote particular albums then dropped on subsequent tours. And really, they're hardly likely to play Noel Gallagher's songs, are they? It's an unwritten law in music. Even Paul McCartney, who wrote under the banner of 'Lennon/McCartney', only plays live The Beatles tracks he penned. Liam doesn't exactly seem like the type to launch back into his big brother's songs. Surely that would be him conceding that he can't come up with enough of his own decent material? He'd want to step straight out of Noel's shadow. Big shadow to step out of mind you...
