OASIS VIDEOS UP FOR 4 AWARDS AT UK MVAs 28 September 2009
Oasis have been nominated for four awards at this year's UK MVAs. The video for 'Falling Down' is up for:
- 'Best Cinematography In A Video' - 'Best Editing in a Video' - 'Best Rock Video'
They are also up for 'The Innovation Award' for 'Dig Out Your Soul'.
WIZ, the director of the 'Falling Down' video (and Kasabian's 'Fire') is up for Best Director.
The awards take place on October 13th and are designed to recognise excellence in music video production by UK individuals and companies and to highlight the cultural significance of music video as an art form.

Makes me wonder who will actually collect if they won?

" They are also up for 'The Innovation Award' for 'Dig Out Your Soul'. " What is innovative about DOYS?

" They are also up for 'The Innovation Award' for 'Dig Out Your Soul'. " What is innovative about DOYS? To be honest, that was my initial reaction.

What is innovative about DOYS? It was the first album ever to be sold in three hundred separate formats.

What is innovative about DOYS? It was the first album ever to be sold in three hundred separate formats. I think it's got something to do with the artwork

" They are also up for 'The Innovation Award' for 'Dig Out Your Soul'. " What is innovative about DOYS? I was thinking maybe it's the promotional campaign Dig Out Your Soul On The Streets. I think the artwork should be able to win things - I love that album cover... shame the music on the album doesn't match the ambition. Is the VMA's the one that Katy Perry hosted last year?

With these and the Q Awards, I hope they win at least one. Apart from my wanting them to win because I love the band, I would love to see what would happen. Who would collect in person, if anyone, or if there would be some sort of prerecorded message, etc. I wonder?

Noel won't collect anything if they win. He's not in the band anymore. Liam will collect if they win.

In all honestly, they'll probs send some lacky to collect it on their behalf, like Rhys Ifans at the NME awards in 2006.
