Can't wait for The Beatles Remasters - I'm going to have to buy them all.
At least we won't have to suffer with the average quality 1987 releases. Just a question though - is '1' digitally remastered, and is that the sort of sound we're expecting of the new releases?
Anyway, I'm thinking they should also re-release all The Smiths albums with all of them remastered.

i hope they sound like love did Some of Love is rubbish in my opinion, but there's a few gems on them, especially Octupus's Garden. But yeah, if the production is similar to that, then I will be one crazy happy bunny.

i don't think "1" was digitally remastered. I think they just compiled the original masters of the old singles or album versions. I'm excited too, the '87 releases aren't very high sound quality.

I might be wrong, but they do come with extended sleeve notes and other stuff. Not sure about the other stuff, but I'm pretty dead on certain that there will be at least extended sleeve notes.

If I'm not mistaken, it will sound like Love - which has incredible quality.

Stereo or Mono? Which is better. Stereo has 4 more discs for about 30 quid less, yet apparently 'the only way to listen to the Beatles is Mono'. Is that just people saying that for the sake of being 'old school' or is it really the case?

The mono mixes are the originals. George Martin had to remix them into stereo in the 80's for the first cd releases and therefore don't sound exactly how they would have when first released. There is a difference apparently. I can remember somewhere in Geoff Emericks book (the Beatles engineer) him saying that the stereo mixes are awful in comparison. The monos are the way The Beatles intended them to be heard.

The "Love" DVD-A sounds AMAZING on my 5.1 system.
I listened to it stoned, it was so good it wrecked my head.
Then I had a little nap.

It's on youtube too: (youtube vids have shitty quality though) I have listened to a few songs and I didn't notice anything that's really different to previous remasters. Can't wait for the mono remasters though.

Wow, is this legit? Can't believe they let it slip if true! I think some retailers have 'broke street' and are selling the CDs early, so says some guy on another message board I frequent. www.wordmagazine.co.uk/content/beatles-remasters-in-us-stores-nowThanks for the links, I found some of these last night, but not all. I gotta say, though although I realise the mp3 rips are gonna be a slightly different proposition to the CDs, I don't really notice 100 quids worth of improvements in the sound quality so far. Just waiting on the remastered mono rips now... ;-)

So I was disappointed with Revolver, but Pepper's sounds way better! The rhythm section is so much more fuller and you can actually hear George!

i went for sgt. pepper first also. The opening track made me giddy. I hope people realize this is for the nerds, not sure the average Joe will be able to notice how different it is.
