Dig Out Your Soul - Full Album Release Details 10 September 2008
Oasis’ eagerly awaited new album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ is released on 6th October on the band’s own Big Brother Recordings label around the world. The album will be available on four physical as well as digital formats.
For the first time ever, Oasis are releasing a collectors edition box set of their new record (RKIDBOX51R). A strictly limited quantity of these box sets will be available through the band’s web site at Oasisinet and at selected retail stores. The superbly packaged set (weighing in at a hefty 3.7 kilos) is the only place fans can get all the songs, remixes and audio / visual material recorded for 'Dig Out Your Soul'. It includes:
- The album on CD - Bonus track CD with 9 tracks and remixes - DVD featuring 40 mins of footage including exclusive behind the scenes making of the album and video for ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ - 4 x heavy weight vinyl records containing the album and bonus tracks - Deluxe 24 page hardback book - Mp3 download of the album (Oasisinet only)
Fans can see the boxset on YouTube. Plus the band have signed 20 copies of the boxset which will be sold at random from Oasisinet.
The album is also available as a special edition digipack (RKIDCD51X) with bonus DVD disc containing 40 mins of footage including exclusive behind the scenes making of the album and video for ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’. 'Dig Out Your Soul' will also be available on double heavyweight vinyl (RKIDLP51) and standard single CD (RKIDCD51) formats.
'Dig Out Your Soul' will also be released digitally and can currently be pre-ordered through iTunes where fans will immediately be able to download the album track 'Falling Down'.
‘Dig Out Your Soul’ was produced by Dave Sardy who worked with the band on 2005’s, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’. It was recorded at Abbey Road and mixed in Los Angeles. All four band members once again contribute tracks.
The Track listing is:

please stand up, please stand up.
i can live without owning a disc of remixes and non-album tracks. two of its tunes are on the japanese edition (the version i will be buying), another tune is on the shock of the lightning single and lord don't slow me down has already been released as a digital single (although i suspect this version may be the one with liam on vocals). so that's 4 out of 9 already owned without buying the super package. plus, the boy with the blues has to be released as a b-side eventually. and the dvd footage will appear on youtube the day of release. the vinyl is of no use to me.
plus, down the line, in one country or another, the 2 cd's will be bundled and sold together. at some point. there's too high of a demand for it to not be released.

I'm with you. If the bonus CD is only with the delux box set, I'll get the Japanese release and find the other tunes from other places. Still would be nice if they just had the 2 CD's!!!!

My guess is yes but i wonder if i'll come a day early. any info on this? I live in the UK and order cds from the US all the time so can't see there being a problem going the other way. Well chuffed there's going to be a CD and DVD version. I love vinyl but can't justify spending £100 on the super duluxe something for the sake of a booklet and a two (!!!) entirely new songs so it'll be nice to own the doc.

As much as I'd love to buy the super deluxe version, $100 is a high price considering I won't even be using the LPs. I'll just pick up the CD/DVD and download the extra tracks. Hopefully it will end up like STC though; the CD version of that had the EP bundled at Best Buy.

guess this means the bonus disc will only ever be with the super deluxe For now. Dont assume it with this band though. 4/9 of the tracks are already out or scheduled to come out as bonus tracks/b-sides on other things (Jap edition extras, iTunes bonus). The chance of the other 5 tracks coming out, or at least some of them on other things like this is very high, especially considering Oasis haven't exactly been creative with regards to b-sides and bonus tracks lately. If the album is a hit, its also a very good possibility that they re-release the album in six months or so with another disc as lots of acts have done as of late. Usually its called "tour edition" or "special edition" and typically comes with a second disc of extra tracks/remixes/live editions etc. I think by the time this "era" has come to a close, most, if not all of the bonus disc tracks will be out in other places in some way.

the dvd footage will appear on youtube the day of release. There is no extra DVD footage on the Super Deluxe. The cheaper CD/DVD version has everything the more expensive one does on that front. Like most people, I would have gone for the Super Deluxe if it was cheaper because I would like that extra disc of songs. But adding the quadruple vinyl was just an unnecessary expense and, let's face it, those extra tracks will be shared by some kind person or other along the way. It's a shame it's so expensive because we've waited more than three long years to hear new material and it just feels like they're cashing in on that. Tickets for the Autumn gigs are nearly 50 quid a pop and this Deluxe album is the same price (more for those living outside the UK). It just feels a little bit like they're cashing in on loyal fans.

I ordered the deluxe. Probably shouldn't have. I don't know where I'm gonna put the thing, for starters. The book is just a blown up version of the liner notes, so what? And honestly, it doesn't even look that good. That "beautiful shoulder box" is rather pointless because why would you display it in a brown box instead of showing the cover?
I felt I should buy it because I really did want a vinyl version, but the standard vinyl will probably look a lot better. I might just buy a standard CD and wait to decide on selling the deluxe later on ebay. Of course, that probably means missing out on the release date as I wait for it to ship in from the UK, because I ain't buying the US version.
Sugar booger.
