Hi!
So, I'm a big belgian Oasis-fan for like 10 years now. I like almost all of their music. Except for most of SOTSOG.
I remember 3 years ago, when DBTT came out I was looking forward to its release, bought it the day it came out and loved the whole fuckin' album. But something got my attention! Liam's Voice was getting a bit tired.
Now you guys probably have noticed that his voice has changed over the years. It never really bothered me, I just noticed it. Noel voice on the other hand keeps getting better and better.
So I've taken a listen to the two tracks that I could find from their upcoming album (as a kind of preview). As you all know: The Shock Of The Lightening and Falling Down.
What are my conclusions? Well, TSOTL reminds me of things like 'Go Let It Out'. Bad lyrics, bad song. It starts of nice, but it never reaches anything from there on. But appart from that, the thing that bugged me the most was Liam's sneer. It's getting to hard. His voice will not be able to tackle stuff like Slide Away, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall or Supersonic anymore. His voice was allready on some edge last tour, but I fear the worst this time around.
Falling Down on the other hand makes me wanna cum. Shit, what a great song! Hands down, I've got nothing more to say.
Now, does anybody share my fear? What if the whole album sounds like that? You are not going to tell me that's going to be an easy listen! Or easy to take after such a great discography, for that matter?
Please, everybody, tell me I'm wrong. Tell me it's just me.
Davy.

Go Let It Out is fucking top. Don't argue.
Better than The Shock Of The Lightning, anyway.

Or easy to take after such a great discography, for that matter? Please, everybody, tell me I'm wrong. Tell me it's just me. Davy. Ill take this one boys. Liams voice is actually getting BETTER! He sounds great on TSOTL and some of the people here on the board that went to that private Oasis gig the other night said Liams voice was amazing, and he DID sing Slide Away. I think Liam quit smoking cigs, and he was taking voice lessons. Liam is fine and his voice is pretty much back to how it used to be. So dont worry about Liams voice, because ITS GETTING BETTER (MAN!!!) And Go Let It Out's lyrics arent bad, neither are TSOTL, Its a great song. I Love it. I think its better than Go Let It Out, but thats just me. This upcoming album is gonna be great, its been called "A big step up from Dont Believe the Truth". So dont worry mate, its gonna be ok

Liam sounds fine on TSOTL, and is not sneering at all. I don't see your complaint....

Read the comments from people who attended the recent promo gig - Liam's voice is apparently in top form again, and he's even been working out (wow...) in advance of the tour. Can't ask for much more, I think this will be one of their best tours yet in terms of quality of performance and completeness (you know, actually playing all the shows...).

That's one of those songs that should never be heard from again after it's obligatory showing in that album's tour. It's complete ROOBISH.

Absolute rubbish... but i guess they like playing Liam's short songs live, cos' it seems like the gig is bigger maybe, who knows...

The Shock of the Lightning is by far the best lead single since D'You Know What I Mean. It's just got so much sheer energy behind it.
