Hello - as this site seems like it's based in New York I thought one of you out there might beable to do me a favour... I'm from Manchester, England and me and my mate are coming over to NYC for New Year as of the 28th. Where could a couple of Rock n Rollstars find a good time, plenty of booze and decent music/atmosphere whilst we are there? We look the part, we've got a band and we are bang into Oasis and everything that defines them - any info. would be much appreicated - we'll even get the beers in if any of you are, as Liam would put it, Mad for it!

hey guys welcome to the forum: here some tips : stop by and read the New Years Eve Guide at : www.nypress.com for all the RockNRoll (small and big) going on that week. a good starting point for fun in the city: The Lower East Side : St. Marks Street and Ave A (breeding ground for the STROKES and other greats like Iggy Pop etc) There's a lot of bars and Rock venues down there like CBGB's, The Pyramid, Bowery Ballroom, The Continental.. If you guys need to chill for a few hours and check out our pretty women : SABRINAS lounge under the Chelsea Hotel (of Sid and Nancy fame) 222 w 23rd , cool place no asswipes hangin out...... A subway ride on the L line takes you to Brooklyn where all the new Garage and post punk bands are hangin out. Bedford's the stop..... NYC is so overwhelming with entertainment during that week that you guys will be in a coma on your way home... Anyway if I hear of any big underground surprise gigs I'll post them here for you... best of luck and enjoy your stay!
