For the record, Cindy Sheehan is starting to get on my nerves. For those of you who have been camping in holes in the ground for the past several months, this is a woman who lost her son in combat and now has a vendetta against everything that is patriotic. I feel bad for anyone who loses a child, and she has every right to be upset. She also has every right to protest and every right to publicly speak her opinion (Apparently everyone in America has this right but Pat Robertson).
But the way that the media is blowing up this woman’s cause is doing nothing but proving that Cindy Sheehan is completely certifiable. Even the worse is that other people—obviously certifiable as well—are actually buying into this woman’s reckless proposal. I’ll stop just short of comparing her to Vernon Howell.
Sheehan is demanding that the administration calls American troops out of Iraq now. Sure, Cindy, and let’s turn Afghanistan back to the Taliban while we’re at it. Let’s give Poland over to the Nazis, and let’s turn all of Korea over to Kim Jong Il.
Cindy, I know you’re hurting over the loss of your son. But don’t let your own mouth make his death and the deaths of other American soldiers killed in this campaign worthless. America has fought long and hard to bring freedom to the Iraqi people. There are those extremists who are putting everything they have into preventing us from achieving this noble goal.
If we leave Iraq now, we surrender. We surrender the lives of those already killed. We surrender the freedom of the Iraqi people. We surrender the very foundations that our country stands for, and we show the enemy that we couldn’t get the job done. We surrender our supremacy, and we demonstrate that we are a force easily beaten. Cindy, is that how you want the world to remember your son?
Not everyone agrees on our reasons for fighting this war. Not everyone agrees on our current handling of this war. But there’s one thing that every single true American should agree on—that we came to this war to fight and we will prevail.

Lmao I'm new here but you didn't just compare Cindy Sheehan and her right to protest to Pat Roberson did you? Big difference bud, Cindy Sheehan doesn't have a "Christian (Not in my opinion it is)" tv show where he voices off his far-right views, and completely contradicts all of his own beliefs and what he tells his followers by calling for an "Assasination". Even if for some magical reason Cindy Sheehan gets a tv show to voice her opinions, I wouldn't compare an anti-war stance to calling for an assasination.. That's just complete and utter foolishness, no offence man but I do speak the truth in this instance. *Edit* Btw while I don't really care about her statements, she doesn't believe that troops should be pulled from Afghanistan, in reality she called that mission a "Failure". And btw U.S. troops are slowly dropping out of Afghanistan, in fact Canadian troops are now taking over the patrol routes from U.S. soldiers. Afghanistan has not been as big a priority as Iraq, not even when it was the main war being fought.

But it wasn't a war against Afghanies, it was to take down Al Qaeda and the Taliban correct? That's why it wasn't a success. The taliban still exists, and so does Al Qaeda. Bin Laden is still out there, Al Qaeda is still carrying out attacks and killing people (London bombing?). The mission in Afghanistan did in fact fail. I'm not about to say the Iraq war shouldn't have happened, but there's one thing most people who disagree with the war tend to believe.. There was a MUCH bigger priority then fighting Saddam Hussein.. It was taking down the most dangerous terrorist group in the world, responsible for 9/11. And that was put on the sideburner. And again.. When did Cindy Sheehan say Afghanistan was a mistake? She said it was a failure, and I agree. And you're comments about her being an idiot are really sad. She lost her son, do you even know her personally? I don't agree with many of the things she says but I'm not about to call her an idiot. It is foolish to call someone who's lost their child an idiot when you can't even comprehend the pain and suffering that causes. Have you even stopped to think maybe that pain is twisting her views? That's not idioticy, it's understandable.

The right are scared of Sheehan, simple as that. She has done what they did not want her to do and put a face on the anti-war movement, which according to them does not exist. Calling her nuts is kind of ludicrous if you are supporting Dubya and the warmongering fucktards who currently hold sway in the US government. You think Donald Rumsfeld is completely sane?? History will not thank America or the UK for what they have doen in Iraq. Many lies have been told and many lives have been lost. For all the bullshit about liberation and what have you (which only came about AFTER all the talk about WMD's, which subsequently turned out to be utterly bogus), I can only draw one simple conclusion - if Iraq had no oil, we would not be there. If it was arid, useless desert, we wouldn't even get on the plane. The hypocrisy of it all is sickening.
