Chris Martin turned down the chance to meet Tony Blair in Downing Street, in fear of his reputation.
Chris said he did not want to follow people like Noel Gallagher, and Fathers 4 Justice, whom in one way or another have visited Downing Street.
Chris said: "I'm not going to go. I really like Tony Blair. He's interested in the same things as I am - he plays the guitar and he always gives the impression of doing what he can to help.
"But I don't particularly want to be photographed with him at the moment."

Why not? Fat, white, elitist, middle-aged respectable people are like his entire audience.
I never heard of anybody who is the least bit cool and who isn't on the computer all day long that listens to feminine piano music.
I mean, Elton John is more manly. And as for his girlfriend, wife-- whatever she is-- they look exactly alike. But I guess for a guy that loves to hear himself talk as much as he does-- makes sense.

That's why I don't like to make generalizations.

IF CHRIS MARTIN does not wanna go see mr blair, then he shouldn't... simple.. right on... but don't bring noel into it... we all know chris still is pissed about the simplicity and brilliance of noel's tunes.. as he stated/admitted in recent Q. perhaps he added a subliminal dig to my beloved mr. gallagher... maybe not.... i cld just take it all a bit too personally..peace & love

I still agree with Noel's position on rock and roll and politics. SOmething about guys with guitars don't go around changing the world.

chris didnt mention noel, look at the quotes in my original post honey i know, that is why i said don't drag noel into it. like he was slagging noel off for going back in the day....... i will be honest, chris m. ripped on noel - yeah fair play -chris said - when he says something meaningful, implying world peace and all and politics - then he'll be untouchable... well noel never said he had a platform - he went to tony's and probly talked about the labor party for 2 mins and then tony asked him all about shagging and the lyrics on DM...lol ! now we know noel has made statements like - protesting - bloody waste of time - which in some ways is true - esply living here in the usa - it is a waste of time with the good old boys club in power.. anyway... ~ noel has made a mega statement with MF , he just choses not to bang on about it... mf beats fucking american idiot.... which in my book, also fucking rocks... mf is a more refined song in my book, more on the lines of dylan - did i just say that ? ~ hey dom i am on a tangent.... bye, until next time.. i just get sick of pot shots at the gallaghers - direct and indirect... but then again that is why they r so strong......cheers...

I really like Tony Blair. He's interested in the same things as I am - he plays the guitar and he always gives the impression of doing what he can to help. "But I don't particularly want to be photographed with him at the moment." didnt mention noel or fathers for justice, the reporter is just trying to mix
