I am sure most of you musicians and guitar palyers have noticed that Noel has borrowed other artists songs. At least he makes them sound brilliant. Lets start a list of songs he has ripped from:
1. "WTSMG" rips off an REM song riff and just speeds it up (the Em riff). 2. Cigarettes and Alcohol rips of that Bang a Gong song riff.
Also, he tends to use the same chord progressions and similiar solos in many different songs:
1. Married with Children is the same chord progression as She's Electric, just sped up. 2. Wonderwall has the same chord progression as D'You Know What I Mean, just layered and distorted guitar.
He also makes many references to Beatles songs:
1. Be Here Now - "...sing a song for me, one from 'let it be'..." 2. D'You Know What I mean - "...'fool on the hill' and 'I feel fine'..."
Add to this thread when you think of something.

That's the beauty of playing Oasis tunes, you don't forget the chords because they have another song with the same chords.

Bring It On Down and Rock N Roll Star have the same chords, just not the same riff... The solo is also similar...
Some Might Say and I Hope I Think I Know again have a very similar chord pattern, along with Step Out...
That's off the top of my head...

1. "WTSMG" rips off an REM song riff and just speeds it up (the Em riff). I can't believe it took me as long as it did to figure out which REM song. Um...Be Here Now is Columbia sped up and in a different key. Hindu Times is Be Here Now with different lyrics.

as noel said, genius's steal, fakers borrow Exactly. I love Noel's songs. It is fun to see where he got some of this stuff from or what he was influenced by.

It's the REM song that goes "This one goes out to the one I love. FIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRREEEEEEE!!"
