my favorite acoustics are all epiphone/gibson, i think they make the best guitars. The EJ-200 is a topline epiphone (which is comparable to the gibson j-200 for much more), if you can find it, it's about $400-$500.

He's also got the Epiphone hummingbird, which i prefer, and its around the same price i think?

Yer first acoustic really doesn't matter, IMO... You shouldn't spend more than $200 because you might just find out that guitar is not yer cup of tea. Any guitar by a big maker (fender, gibson (epiphone is the lower budget end), takamine) will make a good, easy playing model under $200, often in a "package' form. This means that it includes a guitar, some sort of introductory material, and necessary accessories to get started. I do NOT recommend forking out $300 for the Epiphone EJ-200 (which is not even a solid top model anymore, while Noel's was), and I don't even think they make the EJ-200 in regular production anymore. The Hummingbird is a better choice, but really, what if you find out you hate playing guitar? Start simple, I say. I did, and now I've got guitars up the wazoo
