If anyone has the capability of doing so, then stick Some Might Say on and speed it up a tad. Then listen to it from a gig like Knebworth they sound sorta the same don't they?
The way I found out was using Time-scale on the Creative Zen Extra 30GB Mp3 Player (plugging intended). If anyone has it then stick SMS on and put time-scale on and up to 1.25X.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I like the D better. Usually when I'm strumming my guitar I play it with D.

It's sped up on the album version. Try playing a properly tuned guitar along with the song, it'll sound off...

definitely a step down starting with the 2002 tour , start off with a C#, not D as in the recorded version, personally sounds great to me, i didn't even notice till i tried strumming along once, they also played DYKWIM down a halfstep in 2002 as well starting off with an F, not an F#
if you want to play SMS acoustically, try the "weezer" tuning, take your acoustic and tune it to Eb, G#, C#, F#, Bb, Eb, better explained... just tune the whole thing down a half step, works quite well if anything is just out of your vocal range, many weezer classics use this setup such as "Butterfly" on Pinkerton
i hope that noel figures this out and brings back Dont Go Away down a half step, but using open chords for the acoustic harmonic quality, i think Liam could hit all the notes it if it starts with a G#m

I love the way you say "weezer" tuning when much bigger acts were using it for years previous and more effectivly. Just check out the work of Hendrix and Nirvana who popularized detuning.

fuck! i hate musos when they all get together and start boring everyone with chat about how important a gold screw is in a e/f22 pickup and how it improves the tremelo vibration in the eboe horn reaction tweeter.
sad bastards.

Talking about the key of a song is a discussion about there music and not about music equipment. Im a guitarist but i couldnt give a fuck about all that boring shit about pickups and shit, i just like to play it, but if you play guitar the key of a song is kinda important to no.

You spelt 'tremolo' and 'ebow' incorrectly... ok now it really is the most boring thread ever! i agree with the Weezer thing though - hardly their idea

hardly Weezers idea, but they use it on almost every song of theirs! thats why i call it "weezer" tuning, its a generational thing :-) agreed that this is a bvoring topic tho! so i'll stop with it too
however Dont Go Away down a half step would be f*ckin great!!!
