Right most people have heard of songs like processed waterfalls...2 songs mixed together.
does anyone know of any software which can do this? i mean, split the vocal from the music?

if you're on a mac i know garagband is pretty good.
on a pc, i use adobe audition. it takes some work to get used to it and to split the vocal from the track but you'd be able to do it.

did you buy it? its like $300.
i dnt know how to get a clean cut vocal track without a multitrack but you will have to find what channel the voice is on and then suppress the frequencies of the other noise. I think it has some templates to bring our the typical vocal frequencies so use them.
