you can use imtoo dvd audio ripper to turn any audio in the dvd in mp3 or wav. although, this program costs a few bucks to use completely. you can d/l the program from www.download.com , and you can record like 3 minutes before you need a cd key. for the sake of my account here, i wouldn't encourage getting a cd key illegally, couch cough (www.serials.ws) cough cough

aye, cheers mate ive done it now with some freeware. although its converted them into WAV. is this generally a large file cos its about 45mb per song where as this would be the same size for about 10 mp3s.
if i converted them to mp3 form, would they compress?

yea it will. mp3 at good quality (128kbps) is 1mb a minute.
now you've inspired me to record my concert dvds to mp3s.

CDex converts .wav to mp3 easily, again you'd have to find it... somewhere like www.downlaod.com
