From Ringo Starr's website: "Ringo congratulates Oasis on receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award and though he appreciates their music he will not be at the Brit Awards to present the band with the award. Maybe Johnny Depp is free?" Ringo publicist has also told the BEATLES NEWS BRIEFS SITE at abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/fabnews.htm:"As it was stated on his website, he never had plans on attending. That was a rumour."

Ringo is a good drummer. Listen to the drum fills on a day in the life. They're excellent. Ringos drumming is the heart of the beatles music. it can't be replicated

Ringo's drumming is absolutely great. It's very distinctive, and its simplicity speaks volumes. If I had a nickel for every time I wanted my band's drummer to pull back on the reins a little bit I'd be rich. Ringo's drumming never took anything away from the rest of the song, and it added a lot of character and energy to the Beatles sound.

Thanks for asking that question and thanks for the answer!
I wondered what had happened to Ringo... who I had hoped to see do the deed.
Never mind...

I have to say.. This was a bit odd.. I mean his own son was part of the award performance.
You'd think he'd jump at the chance to be the one giving the award.
