on Oct. 4th, the most passionate, soulful, powerful and greatest female rock artist - the amazing Janis Joplin died "Maybe I won't last as long as other singers, but I think you can destroy your now by worrying about tomorrow. If I hold back, I'm no good now, and I'd rather be good sometimes than holding back all the time." "But then who cares baby, 'cause we may not be here tomorrow, so I say get it while you can!"we miss you Janis

you may spam whatever stupid thread I make but don't ruin this one. there are a lot of janis fans in here, if you don't have anything important to add, don't sweat it.

she certainly had the voice. it is too bad she never had a backing band that could match her talent. I love her for the fact that she bought bessie smith a proper tombstone.
RIP

just because of this post I've been downloading some Janis songs and eva I would like to know which are some songs I really need to here to get into Janis that makes me feel good. thanks. my favourite album is Cheap Thrills. the whole track listing is awesome: Combination of the Two I Need a Man to Love Summertime Piece of My Heart Turtle Blues Oh, Sweet Mary Ball and Chain and the re-edition (included in Box of Pearls) has this amazing bonus tracks: Road Block (session outtake) Flower in the Sun (session outtake) Catch Me Daddy (LIVE) Magic of Love (LIVE) if you're buying maybe you should get The Essential. it has all her "famoous" songs (piece of my heart, maybe, try, mercedes benz, Me & bobby mc gee, to love somebody... etc) if you're downloading search for any of those plus Farewell Song, any live version of summertime or ball & chain and one of my favourites: Work Me Lord. I might upload some stuff by the end of the week. so cheek the boot pit. edit: I can't believe I forgot Tell Mama and Cry Baby, a classic. I just uploaded a vid of this last one
