Can't say I've delved much into the world of techno music but I like some of McCartney's Fireman trance stuff (especially some of the remixes). Some of The Chemical Brothers stuff is nice but most is a bit too fast for me. I love Setting Sun but I can't listen to an hour of it. Any recommendations from people here? Looking at darker, slow stuff. Trance, Blade Runner type soundscapes. Sorry, I don't even know quite how to describe it. They were playing some great stuff on the radio the other night from the 1990s (some trance band who only did two albums) and I wrote down the name of the band but lost the bit of paper! This is Andy Bell’s electronic music… GLOK. Might fill the type you are looking for. Two albums and loads of remixes available. If you like it, opens up a whole range of sound like Andrew Weatherall and more. Nice stuff - I'll check out some more. Thanks!

Starting to feel like everyone has heard this album except us lol Well it's got universally great reviews so maybe it would best if they just cancelled the actual release at this point and leave it as some sort of mythical, unreleased masterpiece.

People who do their weekly fucking shop at petrol stations. Fuck off. It should be for cigarettes, alcohol, 5 food items max and petrol, obviously. Tesco's is three minutes up the road and about 25% cheaper ffs. Nothing worse than pulling up behind somebody at the bowser, filling up your car, paying for the fuel and getting back into your car and then you're left sitting there for 10 minutes because the driver in front of you (who was obviously there before you) is still inside the station carefully making their coffee at the coffee machine. There's a car behind you waiting so now you can't go forward or back. You just have to wait. Then when they do get back in their car clutching their precious coffee they seem to spend endless amounts of time just getting themselves organised and fluffing about before they actually start the car and drive off.

...People thinking politicians who make mistakes with prescription meds and booze should resign when we've all done stupid shit. Politicians who spend years being notorious aggressive drunks then blame it on a mistake with "prescription meds" when their typically obnoxious behaviour suddenly becomes public.

Noel has issued a heap of remixes of his solo work. I know some don't like them but I think a double vinyl album of these would be a great RSD release. In fact all his official remixes clock in at over five hours so there's easily scope for three double albums. Maybe one per year for the next three years. One release focusing mainly on the remixes, one on the dub mixes and one on the instrumental remixes. Jeepers creepers no!! 🤢 I love the remixes but release new ones rather than just compiling old ones… I'd prefer that too but given that Noel's dull RSD releases now seem to be confined to just repackaging previously released material I think this is a great opportunity to gather all these remixes together. Having said that, I've already compiled my own homemade 4CD package of all his remixes (they work much better as a long running playlist rather than just as a single remix that's dropped as a bonus track) and I don't buy vinyl albums or vinyl singles anyway so I'm really not fussed what he puts out for RSD. At least if it's something new there's usually a rip or download version that circulates for me.

OK I already have those two songs. Nothing to see here - certainly absolutely nothing worth cracking my wallet open for.

Untitled albums are lazy. Just take a good lyric from one of the songs and that's it. Done. That sounds lazy Lazier than not bothering to come up with anything at all?

I've never been a fan of hers, but goddamn, do I respect her. She writes or co-writes all her songs, plays her own instruments, is her own manager and surrounds herself with the best in the business. A perfect piece of evidence for that is that she was the only person who rejected an endorsement deal with FTX—she did her due diligence, as did her team. Yeah her music does nothing for me either but good on her. At least she writes her own stuff and plays her own instruments.

...If it’s a one-off, it would simply be known as the Liam Gallagher & John Squire album, regardless of whether it had a title or not. And if they do a second album?

Crosby Stills Nash first album was Crosby Stills Nash And that's a rubbish title. I'll give a pass to THE BEATLES for using their own name as an album title as it's the album follow up to SGT PEPPER (they're back to being just "The Beatles" rather than an imaginary band). Even the cover gave the album it's own nickname as "The White Album". That all worked out fine and was quite clever. But what awful nickname would the Gallagher Squire be given the dire cover art? The Shopping Basket Album? The Supermarket Album? The Crap Cover Art Album? Songs For Swinging Shoppers? Dispose Of Packaging Thoughtfully? Scan Your Loyalty Card at Checkout? There you go - Checkout. I could live with that as a title. Not ground breaking but that'll do me.

Honestly, I give more importance to whether the album is good than whether it has a title or not... I don't think anybody here is arguing otherwise. Just saying they'd prefer to have a good title as well. It's not like coming up with an album title would have wasted weeks of valuable time that could have been better spent writing and recording the album. The two of them could have bashed out a title over a pint after work one evening.

I think its better they didn't title it. I like albums to have a proper title and I was never a fan of Noel's first album not having a proper title especially for his debut. It's pretty bad when you have an album with 10+ songs and not one single line or phrase from all those lyrics is thought worthy of being used as an album title. If nothing there seems appropriate to fit the album as a whole then come up with a unique title that's completely inappropriate or obscure.

2021 VOCAL REMIX
This sounds different to both the "regular" album version and the Don't Stop Mix. Is this a new release or are my ears deceiving me? Right from the very opening few seconds you can heard the difference.
ALBUM VERSION
DON'T STOP MIX

Sorry, I normally pick who I think is the worst and least deserving act on the list and vote for them. I can't even be bothered doing that this year.

DM Reissue better not suck. But it will right ? I feel like we can already see how Noel is gonna pitch this. "I was digging through the tapes and what you know, I found a studio I Am The Walrus, Coming On Strong, Lock All The Doors and Liam on Sad Song". "...and we won't be including these this time, but maybe there's a home for them on a reissue or a box set in few years time.."

Afternoon all Have been following this thread for a couple of weeks now and just had my membership approved. I don't suppose anyone has seen any edit of JAR that has the singing of the rainbow colours section removed? I so want to love this song, and really like the rest of it, but I find I'm always waiting to hear that bit which really makes me cringe and I cannot get over it! If an instrumental mix of the song turns up it would be easy to simply mix out the vocals on that section (I'd rather just mix those vocals out rather than edit the song). I wanted to do that with the "frog" sections on ONCE but never found an instrumental version. I did once find an instrumental of Paul McCartney's MY LOVE and used it to mix out the annoying "whoa wa whoa wah" sections. It was much better.

People who are far too busy gorping at their phone and not looking where their going. I always tell them off when they run straight into me. And, when they do it I never say sorry because it's their own stupid fault and not mine. It happened to me again today. For a god's sake look where you're going instead of looking and messing about with you're phone it's not hard. If I see them coming straight at me I just stop and stand still until they crash into me. "Walk or talk - don't do both at the same time" I say to them as they stare at me in shock for not getting out of their way.

They are. WTSMG cover gets a pass cause of the music but its cover is piss weak too. Too bad they didn't use this for the cover of NGHFB 2011, but it was the cover of something. I still love this I loved all the art associated with WBTM and the EPs as well. Council Skies bland cover was back to business as usual. Anybody have a hi res version of this without the writing on it please?

These aren’t officially released, only on bandcamp so not sure if they would be officially released. If it's not an official release how can they charge for it? Can you just remix something and then charge money for it? And "remixes" - there's more than one?
