As long as the whole album is written by Noel, bar perhaps "Nothing Nowhere" from Liam, then I'm there.
It needs to be written by Noel and sang by Liam. No Andy songs. No Gem songs. No song-writers.
A full record of Gallagher work, for the first time in twenty-five years.

I've been reading this thread and haven't really understood why everyone is begging for there to be no songs written by anyone other than Noel...
Gem, Liam and especially Andy (even though I very much doubt Andy will be part of the reunion) are all super capable songwriters, penning some amazing songs in 2000s Oasis and Beady Eye eras. I wouldn't mind if the new album is Noel-written only, but I also wouldn't mind if we get some songs by the others (if the album happens anyway).
Also if it's mixed by Dave Sardy, that would be amazing, certainly better than if it were mixed by Noel only.

It doesn’t have to be 100% Noel written and 100% Liam sang. But if the balance can go more back in favour of both that would be ideal.
Say a 12 song album, 10 written by Noel, a couple by Liam and Gem. Am assuming Andy not involved. And no more than 2 lead vox from Noel.
I’d never have wanted a world without Songbird, I’m Outta Time, Guess God Thinks I’m Abel etc. But maximise the strengths and weaknesses of those involved please

And then no more gigs from january. Just in time for rehearsals and the oasis Live 25 world tour.

And I hope the fact that Noel's spent 15 years as the frontman of his own band, and presumably can go back to making High Flying Birds records in the future as and when he pleases, will mean that it will be fully Liam-sung. Or all but one or two songs, including any B-sides or extra tracks.
I like Noel's voice, but there was serious lead singer envy going on there, probably from as early as 1996 when his version of 'Step Out' was chosen over Liam's. I was listening to 'Falling Down' the other day, and with lyrics like "We live a dying dream, if you know what I mean" they really missed a trick not getting Liam on that. There are more egregious examples than that (Magic Pie, Full On, Mucky Fingers, etc.), but it was still a bit daft and self-defeating of them to abandon their signature sound, of Liam singing Noel's songs, because Noel wanted to go solo but was too afraid to split the band he'd been in for nearly 20 years (my conjecture).

That type of wording is hyperbolic but this is true. Andy is a dream pop, moody guitar-oriented songwriter that works best in a jam-oriented band. He's not a melodic savant, hits writer like Noel. There's a reason nothing Andy did in Oasis and Beady Eye touched the hairs of something like Vapour Trail or Chrome Waves. Noel probably heard "Step Into My World" from Hurricane #1 and thought, "Oh this guy can write semi-decent anthems! My writer's block issues won't be a problem in the future." |

IF there is really a new LP in the future please let it be all written by Noel(maybe one Liam song) and Liam vocals with Noel having his 2 songs or something.
But please NO other songwriters or any of that stuff. This is literally all about Liam and Noel. Fair play to the other guys for contributing some (semi) decent tunes in the past but really no need for that at this point.

Liam said some time ago that he would've loved a Gallagher/Gallagher songwriting credit during Oasis. Hopefuly we'll get one, even if it's a bonus track or something. Its doable. Just do what they did for liam solo records. Let Liam add a "Come On" to lyrics and its 50/50 royalties  |

I still want to hear Show Me Your Love or whatever it was called. It sounded such a breezy melody. Other than that I get a feeling Liam would happily go without writing another song, at least without someone to help him add a hook to the song, so an Oasis album no doubt will be entirely Noel-written imo. He wouldn't be doing it if he didn't trust Liam's voice much more than in the 00s so Liam should be singing 90% of it.

Strongly suspect the reunion has been in the works for a while but they waited until the ink was dry on Noel’s divorce papers before announcing it so he didn’t have to share any earnings with Sara. 💔 |
