Why not Stereophonics as an opening/support act. I know nothing about Cage the Elephant, and I’m not fussed about Cast. Saw Stereophonics live in 2008 in Washington DC, and enjoyed it. Thought they’d be worth a punt. As far as Cage, give Melophobia and Tell Me I’m Pretty a listen; both albums are genuinely great, in my opinion. They’re also an incredible live band.

I'm not that bothered, but if this is the extent of the support for the UK gigs then it's a bit disappointing, leans heavily into being a 90s nostalgia fest.
Oasis were generally good at having current and younger acts on the bill, neither Ashcroft nor Cast will have anything much to offer that isn't at least 30 years old. Even bands from the same era like Doves or Primal Scream will have newer stuff out by then and have pushed on a bit.

Given how hard it is for newer rock/indie acts to get any attention these days, this would have been a good chance to showcase a great new band. As you say this makes it all look like a 90s nostalgia fest, and suggests Oasis see themselves squarely in that box.

I only know that Cast had John Power that came out of The Las, but never heard a song by them.

Cast are an excellent live band and for me the most underrated British band there is. Not having that they don't have anything to offer less than 30years old either.....Love Is The Call was out this year and is still my album of 2024. Should get out to see them over the next couple of months.

I personally agree with what Liam said, most of the new bands around now aren't fit to grace the same stage as Oasis. How many good tunes have a band like Blossoms got, really?

Fontaines DC are the only band I’m bothered about now who are still a band. Everything else is beige
